Can't see a thread on this anywhere else so thought I'd open the debate. GOTS and POTS voting now open, I've gone early and voted for: GOTS - a wealth of riches to choose from here, found it a bit like choosing my favoutite child. I'm usually a smashed into the roof of the distance kind of guy but have gone with Bobby P against Udders (G). Shimmied his way through without needing to touch the ball and calm finish, poetry in motion. POTS - going to be a close one this, a few candidates. I've gone for Capoue, think he has been brilliant all season, barely an off game and has stepped up the intensity and consistency over previous seasons. He and Doucoure and bossed many a midfield battle this season. Think it will a close run thing on both counts this season.
Hope this link works for the GOTS shortlist, 15 I think so not that short, better than out usual choice of three half decent efforts. POTS - any of our first team players
POTS - Holebas (partly as I want to see his reaction if presented with the trophy) GOTS - Delbert at Wembley, no contest.
Sorry, just realised you may have meant a vote within this thread, if you are relying on me for a poll type scenario then you'll be disappointed, way above my level of abilities. If anybody could add a poll then please feel free.
Holebas for me. From having been slated on here at the beginning of the season, he's been a revelation, culminating in a majestic performance at Wembley. GoS Delofeu's first at Wembley.
Any one of Holebas ,Foster or Capoue deserve to win! As for GOTS: Going to be GD's first under the Arch isn't it?
Slightly old school to go for a banger. Pep has, I think, educated us that it is team play, the team aesthetic, which is the key. Battocchio Huddersfield.
If that had been done by Peps team it would have constituted the entire opening credits of MOTD to this day, a thing of beauty. Hope the little guy is doing well somewhere. Talking of which I'm now struggling to remember which of our goals this season we were debating was 32(guess) or 44(guess) passes in the lead up? Voted now, bugger, but that has to be up there. Goodness my memory has turned to alcohol.
Because otherwise he wouldn't feature and he is our Captain and our Leader so must feature or he will be sad. That said (as per my earlier post) is this not the goal that had 30, 40, 50 passes in the build up, I think it is and as such should be there but in all its glory not just the finish.
I think it was. Didn’t it flick off a Welsh shin, otherwise it would have been better than Carlos Alberto’s goal or something?
Are goals under Pozzo better than before? Time, notoriously, concertinas memory but I suspect this is true.
POTS - Capoue. Been brilliant. Was going to vote Cathcart on the grounds of consistency until Tuesday's mare. GOTS - Deulofeu vs Wolves at Wembley. Unbelievable goal.
Has to be G D's first goal at Wembley GOS. As for POS, there really are so many candidates this year; Capoue, Cathcart, Big Ben..............but the fact that the man has had to battle so hard to be even liked by many of our fans and because I think he has deserved POS before and lost out for to me his undeserved unpopularity, it has to be................... HOLEBAS
POTS: Foster. Arsenal apart, a great addition to the squad and one of the main reasons we have moved forward this season. Even on Tuesday his save from Redmond was superb but I felt he got little praise because it’s become the norm. GOTS: Gray at Burnley. It looked a great move at the game but we were up the other end. On TV it was a very good move and finish - the GOTS highlights don’t give it its full context. On another note we have scored some cracking goals this season - definitely a reflection on the growing quality in our squad.
POTS: Capoue GOTS: Pereyra at Wolves, I could watch that finish all day I notice that UEA mentioned Deeneys tap in somehow made the cut but I would replace it with his penalty at Wembley. Magnificent moment with an incredible amount of pressure
POTS: As others have said: Holebas, Foster or Capoue. I think I'll go for Capoue. GotS: Clear winner is GD in the FAC SF, but Pereyra's timing and technique for goal vs Chelsea is absolutely outrageous and also worth a mention.
Yes, may have gone a bit early, again, probably would have gone for that one if I had realised at the time what it was. Guess they didn't have room for the 7 mins of samba passing in the lead up to it on the highlights video.
