I’ve calmed down but I’m just angry with Deeney. We’re having our best season ever and should have won this game with Deeney on the pitch. He says he wants to lead Watford into Europe but then let’s everyone including himself down. It was just a stupid thing to do and he has previous against midgets so he of all people should know better. He has no excuses. Refs will hit him hard if they have a chance but why give it to them on a plate? The red won’t be rescinded if we appeal and he’s now let the team down for the important run in. Congrats to the rest of the team and we should have drawn that even without Troy.
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but looking at the reply of the goal I think his decision to pass back to Foster was strange. I think both played well tonight.
Combine tonight with our performance at the Emirates, Arsenal will be pinching themselves and trying to figure out how they've taken 6 points off us this season. Two of the grindiest wins you'll ever see.
Foster looked drunk first half. Made a meal of a few simple things and then that pass back, he completely shat the bed. Timing was all off. I could see the danger but he completely misjudged it. Should've toe poked it into touch, but he carried on with a full recoil and swing of the boot to end up conceding what must rank as one of the worst goals in premier league history. The fact that Aubameyang celebrated with a somersault was simply embarrassing. Arsenal were embarrassing full stop. They must feel guilty as **** to be going home with 3 points tonight. They are an utter shower of ****.
Should be a height restriction for players. Midgets should play in their own league. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Literally no idea what he was thinking. Seemed to have an absolute age to just get rid of it and the decision to wind up and go for a full on, other end of the pitch clearance was baffling. I feel extremely frustrated at losing that game after a goal like that, a stupid but unjust red card, and against a side who looked like relegation strugglers for the vast majority of the game.
I bet you wouldn’t say that face to face to the 400 lb silverbacks who are Torreira, Guendouzi & *zil.
Obviously you can't account for Fosters mistake, but there was no need to put him in that situation. Janmaat had plenty of space in front of him.
There was no reason not to. Foster should have done his job. No blame on anyone else but him for that.
I thought he had an excellent first half. Second half things didn't go for him especially when having a chance to control the ball when given a good pass. The shot around the keeper that was blocked he couldn't have done much more. Being the lone striker he probably put too much pressure on himself in his mind.
Ben made up for it. Of course he should of felt with it but really should not of been put in the position in the first place. Janmatt had options in front of him. Credit for Aubameyang for chasing it down he knew foster would put it on his left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Can't believe Foster is getting forgiven for his mistake. It was shocking. The backpass wasn't one of those bullet ones Foster had plenty of time but dilly dallied far too long.
That **** spent 90 mins trying to get deeney sent off at their place then 10 mins doing the same thing tonight. Then went off at half time, job done . If you are going to get done for doing him, do it ******* properly
Too risky to appeal. If the appeal is regarded as frivolous, Troy might get a suspension of more than 3 games
People are being sucked into this nonsense about ‘giving the ref a decision to make’ and other tiresome cliches. That was not a sending off. Arsenal’s playacting was transparent and embarrassing, but the pliant Pawson bought it every time. We all know that nothing will be done about that, but it flaming well should be. Horrible side, with a horrible manager and ******ous fans.
If Deeney's was a sending off - then Leno's two hand shove on Gray for the corner was a penalty. Ironically, ones being spoken about, the other isn't even picked up on.
Never a red. In nearly every match, defenders challenge balls with more dangerous, flailing arms with not even a foul given. Troy ran passed him and barely made contact. The Arsenal player had clearly been instructed to go down like he’d been shot. Whilst the red card was clearly a very harsh decision, it angered me more that every preceding 50-50 was given their way. It wasn’t that he made a single mistake. He’s either not good enough for this league, or is deliberately trying to cheat. Is this really the best quality refs we’ve got? We’re supposed to be in the Premier League. If I saw a performance like that in League 1, I’d feel embarrassed. Awful ref, who is completely out of his depth.
Sky analysis showed that the ball wasn't in play when Leno pushed Gray. Therefore no pen was technically correct. Unfortunately.
I also thought it was a very stereotypical Arsenal response to being called out for a lack of balls. Dive, roll around on the floor and cry until you get your way. Pathetic. What’s abundantly clear is that they have to resort to cheating because they have never been able to deal with our physicality. What’s been made even more clear tonight, is that they also can’t cope with our ability. Capoue, Hughes and Doucoure absolutely dominated them, despite being a player short. What a sad excuse for a football club Arsenal are. One that is going absolutely nowhere.
I didn't see the analysis - But are you sure on that? He pushed him before the corner, and then once the corner was put in - shoved Gray again. Admittedly, Gray knew it was coming, and probably did go down softly.
On the highlights available online the red looks very different from different angles. From one angle it looks like a mean elbow. I also thought Troy walked off knowing what he'd done rather than feeling that he'd been treated harshly ... it also follows the history of comments about roughing up Arsenal... just shouldn't have given the ref the opportunity, should have channelled/ controlled his anger... really frustrating night... if our final passes were a bit better we might have at least got a draw... and forced the Arse to start playing ...
There will always be matches you just have to write off. This was one of those. A silly, careless defeat totally of our own making. I blame the dropping of z-cars for this defeat. Don't mess with tradition ffs. Yes, the referee once again, officiated with big club bias, but we have to expect that. It's not a level playing field in that respect and never will be. We have to overcome this and I thought we were terrific in large parts. Put it this way, it was a much better performance than the one against Fulham, in which we won 4-1. There were some real standout players. I thought that was Janmaat's best ever match in a Watford shirt. Cathcart and Kabs played very well also. Capoue and Doucoure made the game competitive with their tireless running and break up play. Where we were let down was the quality up front. Ok, Deeney gets himself sent off, but it was a nothing incident which would not have even been noticed had the referee not intervened. To do that after just 11 minutes, when you've already conceded the howler of the season, was a bitter blow, but we're so resilient. I've got to say, I'm really disappointed in Success. He's never really found the kind of form since that very early promise when he first signed for the club. Today he was just rubbish and should be nowhere near the first team if that's all he can offer. Foster had a Loach moment, but that has been rare for him and he still made a couple of brilliant saves later on to somewhat make amends. We can't get too upset about this one. Regardless of how the defeat came about, they are a top 6 club and we always struggle against this opponent. Only 3 points from 11 games against a top 6 side tells its own story. Win at Huddersfield on Saturday, and we can forget about this one.
