I have applied for tickets through the overseas ballot and for each of my three sons. I received an automatic reply email saying that application will be considered when tickets go on sale. I am not sure how we will be categorised. We get over to games once or twice a season, and I hope that does not disqualify us, as the criteria for application seems to be that you cannot have any ticket purchase history since 2014. (can't figure that out). I have flights and accommodation booked and paid for (I was careless when booking accommodation and inadvertently omitted to click the option which allows you to cancel). Anyway, if I don't succeed in getting my boys match tickets, I am out of the running for father of the year for the foreseeable future. I think we are Category C for cup final tickets, so there is a glimmer of hope. I haven't told them yet that there is a chance we will not get them. It is similar to the scramble for All Ireland final tickets. The club have been hugely helpful to me in the past when seeking tickets with Dave Messenger particularly supportive. (if you are reading this Dave, you are the greatest Supporter Liaison & Disability Access Officer ever) In fairness, I would say that his head is completely wrecked with the current barrage of requests. Does anyone know how much the premium tickets are likely to cost? I would consider this option, if it is available and if the necessary top-mortgage on the house is not excessive!
Hope you get the tickets you want mate. It's ace to read about someone supporting us through choice rather than geographical obligation.
Haven't a clue about premium tickets, but, being almost in the same boat as you, I checked out StubHub - https://intl.stubhub.ie/manchester-...ustom_param=1-dea29ae7-gb-92679519-1820575-GB - where they are already selling tickets apparently. The cheapest ticket, way up in the clouds, is €240.00...
Could never get behind any of the big london clubs west ham, spurs and chelsea and their fan bases all seem very entitled and i grew up living next door to troopz off arsenal fan tv so they are out too watford just struck a cord with me, no buckets of cash, heart warming history, humble and pleasant fan base, victories are earned not bought, my only regret is i never discovered the club sooner as a neutral, i am 32 and feel i have missed a lot so my jumping off point is marco silva and everton are my watford villains I always seem to be unable to go to the belting games, beating chelsea, spurs etc so fa cup semi was my first big win being present sat through at lot of thumpings last season so this season has been beautiful, getting tanked by Huddersfield last season on a wet December day being a stand out but silver lining by three nil had almost a whole stand to myself 8D
Many thanks. A bit pricey alright. Do you know if you can trust that provider? How do you establish that buying tickets through that site would get you amongst our fans? I would prefer to wait to see if I can acquire real tickets, but don’t want to be left high and dry at the same time. It’s a timing issue. Big decisions to make.
You shouldn't trust a site that is selling tickets that don't yet exist. Far better to look at people who sell tickets within Club Wembley which would be around the same price.
Not going to vouch for them or say they’re wrong’uns, but it would be worth reading the long thread on the Molineux Mix Wolves forum about ticket sales for the semi. It looked like a lot of their fans sourced tickets from Stubhub and similar. I’m sure some will have updated just before or on match day to say whether they got them or not. You can tell which are at our end based on the block numbers.
Can’t speak for whatever policy Wembley have on resale of seats, but I can vouch for Stubhub being legitimate. I’ve used them loads of times for NBA, NFL and various other sporting events out here without any issues. Though I’ve always ensured I purchase e-tickets that are instantly downloadable to avoid any potential for issues with mail delivery etc. I have to say, I think that having made an effort to accommodate fans who are overseas, it’s not great for them to not make a distinction between overseas fans who make regular trips, and those who don’t at all. Can’t believe anybody would find genuine cause for complaint if guys who live overseas and attend a few games per season had priority in that category. I’m surprised they’ve made any allowance at all to be honest, because you’re just asking for a million sob stories from people who’ve moved up north, or can’t go anymore because they have a sick cat.
I've no idea how they get hold of tickets but they certainly do - I presume that such sites are 'guaranteed' an allocation outside of the 56,000 that clubs get. They sell on a first come first served basis - when their allocation is gone, that's it. So they quite possibly do have them already - not having the hassle of trying to please 28,000 fans like clubs do. They also have an allocation of Club Wembley tickets - £300 each if you're interested.
I think the ticketing arrangement is brilliant in avoiding loyal fans bringing their casual beered up mates on a day out. It's rubbish if you have kids in lower categories though. I have no chance of taking my son and I'm a Cat A former ST holder. It's tempting to give him my seat so he sit with my brother and friends and can have a Wembley win in his memories at an early age!
Stubhub's just a ticket resale site isn't it? I thought it was a marketplace for people who have tickets to flog them because they don't intend on going to the match. Naturally it attracts the Club Wembley types who are allowed to re-sell their seat for the match.
Not according to Club Wembley, which I have looked into, but not only is the cheapest membership £1900.00 per annum, they also expect you to commit to THREE YEARS membership!!! Also Club Wembley Members are only supposed to sell tickets to OTHER CLUB WEMBLEY MEMBERS!!!
I know, but members openly sell them to others seemingly without sanction. It's been going on for years. Certainly every game we've played there so far it's been an option.
I think I can safely say that the Wolves fans in the Club Wembley tier at our end of the ground were not Club Wembley members.
There are other sales sites that offer tickets as well - if you delve into many of them, you find that their payment pages link to StubHub. They do seem to have a limited allocation of tickets for each area of the stadium already - presumably that means they have obtained them from sources other than those who have bought with the intention of selling on, because clubs haven't sold any yet. There are around 30,000 tickets available outside of the club allocations - they can't all be freebies for officials, they all have to be sold somewhere. The organisers must surely know that offering the two clubs involved a 50:50 split would virtually guarantee that not all would be sold - and arrange for sales elsewhere. One obvious route would be to guarantee the likes of StubHub an allocation to sell on their behalf - just as they offer allocations to travel companies in other countries, where they can be sold as part of group holiday packages.
I am along with my dad and son a season ticket holder ,my brother is a Wembley b cat supporter so we are guaranteed ticket but we would also like to buy ticket for my nephew (home group c) at the same time so we can sit together. How does this work ?
But will the ‘better categories’ have any favourable chance of purchase if they wait. Unlikely, I’d think, so a risk of missing out completely. Demand at home group C/away group D stage will far exceed total remaining availability I would imagine, unless I’m misunderstanding the process.
That's correct. But also the only way that Rambo will be able to sit with his/her non-Watford supporting family member.
Anyone with a cat A or B - just buy your tickets when they go on sale and try to get the cat C's you also need when they get released. Better to gurantee your seats before worrying about anything else. Sort out the logistics later. We're all in the same stand with access to the whole area. You'll be able to move about as much as you wish and we're an accomodating lot so if junior's seat is a few rows back, I'm sure no one will mind him squeezing in with you at your seat when the time comes.
Quite right. While I was obliged to take the missus to the semi-final (she saw it as some sort of reward for me wrecking the weekends attending away games), when I could get a second ticket on my ID - this time she can't attend. So I will have to go with mates. Mind you we have a 100% win record when she attends. A record that extends back over many years, I am just saying in case we don't get the result we want, and the club wants to revisit this in future years.
You guys who have to wait for a C could buy your A tickets and leave a 1 seat gap between you in the hope it will be there when the C catagory opens up. Might work.
Worth a shot I would say, because even if someone else bought it they might even be willing to swap seats on the day if they are on their own?
Not a bad idea but not sure it'll work. The Ticketmaster software spits out an error message if you try to leave a single.
looks like will will have to get our tickets first and then join the lottery for the remaining ticket. an ideal situation would be the possibility of attaching one extra ticket to a small group of eligible supporters booking in the same transaction ( 4 in my Case), this would eliminate the amount of "billy no Mates" scattered around the stadium .
You bloody hypocrite. Apart from all the ladyboy slurs you've thrown my way I'll have you know I have never even lived in Herts, let alone born there. If it was geographical obligation I'd be a Palace fan, which thanks to my great judgement as a young teen I am a Watford fan, and got more miles on the clock than many here. I should edit.....although I was born in Dulwich and grew up in West Norwood we moved to Yateley when I was 12. Having no parental guidance about who to support, and having no interest at all in football till I moved to Yateley perhaps my geographical obligation should be Reading or Aldershot.
