This thread seems to have slowed a little. All quiet on the western front, or should I say all quiet on the south west corner.
Long piece on JG in the ST. Stresses hard work, discipline & the team ethic. Humble & measured. Knows when to show self control & when to show anger. Many similar qualities to GT.
Got the subs wrong yesterday. We rode our luck and didn't get into positive goal difference. Get rid.
I can't understand why there are two threads anyway, I would just merge this thread with the "(H. Coach) Javi Gracia" thread on The Team Bus.
Yes seems an excellent man manager - you can see his and the coaches/subs joy at that late winner. The team ethic looks great. He will still be sacked next autumn, though, when we are bottom 3 after 10 games.
Funny how after all the managerial comings and goings, we'll go on to have one of the longest serving head coaches in the PL by this time next season. I have been impressed by JG. His quiet, calm & non ego persona is not an act. Another pre season with the same squad looming & that can only be another positive thing. Never thought I'd say this but I find the gurning quite endearing now too. Mrs Gracia
What a job Gracia has done in his first full season with us. Absolute hero. Only the second manager in our history to get us to a FA Cup Final and possibly the highest finish we have achieved in the Premier League era. All whilst having the best net spend in the league this season.
Easily burnt I hear/here/he're/hair. Ps expect to hear a one-man "Gracia out" chant starting in the 83rd minute if we are losing to Citeh and Gomes plays .....
I went to Page 1 thinking it was some wag on 21st Jan last year getting the thread prepared. It was started after our home defeat to Burnley a year ago last weekend. How times change.
It's one of those air fryer things, uses a lot less oil. Chips aren't as good but it does great roast potatoes.
Not sure about cake, but there's an awful lot of humble pie to go around judging by the state of this thread. Some absolute shockers early in the life of this one.
Great thing about this thread is that it shows how despite acting like experts, most of us know **** all about soccerball
That he's" a hideous orang-utan" who spouts Liverpool biased nonsense,is cruel to horses and was about three stone overweight when he 'played' for Watford.
Whether we win the FA Cup final or not Javi must now surely be the second most successful manager of all time eclipsing Kent, Furphy, Lewington, Jokanovic and even Aidy Boothroyd. If we win the Cup then he may even supersede the great GT!
Supersede GT, hardly anywhere near yet. You perhaps forget that when GT took over the first time, he inherited a fourth division squad (and ground) that included Guy Bristow, Peter Coffill, Tony Geidmintis, Horthur Arsefield, Kevin McCarthy and John Walsh. In 5 years we were in the top division. In 6, we were in Europe and in 7 at the Cup Final. His second coming wasn't bad either. JG inherited a squad that included (well you know) and already in the top division for three seasons. Now if we were to get into the Champions League a few times under JG, then (grudgingly) he could be compared.
