Wow, **** knows man! Pereyra finally turned up for a full match again, and Hughes is always good value, so the decision is even harder! Probably edging towards Deulofeu starting, then one of Hughes/Pereyra making way for Gray second half, all depends on how angry Geri is!
Gray has enough ability to tire and work the Wolves CB’s. Was ripe for Deulofeu on Sunday. Gray would likely be figured out by City’s CB’s early so I’d rather Deulofeu who has the ability to worry them for the duration.
I can't believe we will play 2 up top vs Citeh. I think that means GD starts as a wideman/2nd striker when we actually get the ball. AG to come on for the last 20 mins to try to close the 3-0 deficit (assuming Gomes plays....only kidding...).
Of course they both have their flaws, but Deulofeu is so much the better footballer and must be first choice.
Have to agree. Would say that Hughes and Pereyra did work hard on Sunday, despite not being as effective as usual. One or both will feature against Citee as they have the ability to change games. Del Boy and Deeney to start for me with Gray coming on as super-sub second half.
Formation and general game plan will be more difficult to figure out. I'd start with Deeney as lone striker to begin with, start Delafoo but put him in his favoured wing position. Agree with @Ray Knight about Gray being his general SS role. I'd almost certainly start Capoue, Deccoure' and Femenia who played really well Sunday. For me and I expect most of us, the major concern is Mapps. He did OK vs Wolves with no major blunders - but he will be run raged by Agrerooo and Sterling. What other choice do we have though? Is Kabs worth the risk, what about the forgotten man Britos? Masina - please god no.
Of course Holebas will start. He can bring out his new clothing line if we win too. I just hope none of the players pick up long term injuries in these final games running up to it. Saying that, our medical team is a bit more E.R than the Here Comes the Midwife it was last season and before that.
I'd drop Deeney, lol, joke, or is it? I'd go four up top and six in defence, better to try our best and lose 13-0 than doing a Burnley and shutting up shop from the off. Yeah, I'd drop Deeney???
I'd say wait and see what happens to City over the next month. If the quad was easy someone would have done it already. How many games will City have played this season by the final and what state physically their players?
They will have played 20 games, half a season again, more than us by the final. They have a great squad but so even so that’s a lot. I’m hoping one or two of their players are not in tip top.
