I'd take a straight swap with Ginter, although just giving him a google and it seems Tottenham and Arsenal are linked. Also didn't realise Gladbach bought him for €17m a couple of seasons ago so probably see him as a €50m player now, so probably out our reach.
Honestly I think he's exactly the kind of player we're missing at the moment, and has a lot of improvement in him yet considering his age. I'd much rather he stayed with us for a while in the Prem, unless a mega bid comes in.
I suspect we may lose either Pereyra or Delefeou in the summer, so if he’s any good we should keep. This year will have done him some good
I don't mind that website because it reports actual newspaper stories from foreign sources that we wouldn't otherwise see. But it does have a knack of translating comments at face value and banging a clickbait headline on top. It is a bit odd though given he cost a couple of million from a Belgian lower midtable side if he genuinely thought he'd be walking into our Premier League side mid-season. He's right though Javi didn't really experiment much in the first few months. It's up to him if he wants to come back I guess or play the nomad out on loan for a couple more years. I doubt he'd actually attract the hyped up values some have been putting on him without proving himself in the PL anyway.
We'll see where this "special player" is in a season or two.... Sometimes half a decent season makes a player think they've made it.
Not mad at him for that, it's a fair statement to make and he believes in himself. No need to be so precious guys.
Quite. He wanted to play to continue his development, he didn't realise he wasn't viewed as a starter and wasn't happy with the timing of his move as a result. He lost a few months playing time. If he comes back and starts playing regularly then I'm sure his concerns will evaporate. Ultimately there's little distance between his concerns and the reason Chalobah joined us (lack of game time at Chelsea). Like UEA said, the headline is completely overblown.
Agreed & he's only 21. Having said this, this isn't an area which helps WFC or the player to be airing in public. The player should have an open conversation about his future with the club, agree a plan & leave it at that.
I was at the Dusseldorf game on Saturday. Nuremberg had a man sent off after 3 minutes which meant they then set up to defend deep and try to nick one, a plan that nearly got them something. Lukebakio looked very lightweight and against a firm defence he was totally ineffective and spent a huge amount of time on the floor. Perfect fit for the Premier League.
What were you doing in Dūsseldorf? Also, was he really that ineffective given that he got an assist from a decent cross?
I was watching the football I'm a big fan of Dusseldorf and Nuremberg as places to visit and I had always fancied watching a game in Germany so it seemed a good fit.
I used to live in Nuremberg, I went to see them quite a bit when I lived there. They are the Sheffield Wednesday of Germany; quite good decades ago, but a bit crap for years now with the odd season in the top flight.
Bit harsh on the German side - least they've been there a few times since Wednesday last graced the top flight in 1999!
I love Nuremberg. Only ever been for the Christmas markets but I would like to see it in the summer as well.
I lived there for 14 months in the late 90s when I worked for Siemens. It was a great experience as I was 20-21 at the time, however due to the great beer and the first time I had a disposable income I put on a couple of stone in weight!
If you're still there go visit here: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...macher-Dusseldorf_North_Rhine_Westphalia.html Order the pork shoulder thing and sample their Alt beer brewed on site. For every beer you drink they put a tick on your beer mat and you pay at the end. I had 2 mats full at the end of the evening.
So the advice when going there is to procure a spare beer mat and put the number of ticks on it that you want to pay. How very trusting of them.
Recently, I've become quite disappointed with Tipp-Ex. After next to no time, my computer screen gets completely gunged up.
Will be interesting to see if he comes back into the fold next season. Scoring 10 goals and getting 4 assists from 27 appearances for a mid table side in Budesliga is pretty impressive, especially considering he's played on both wings a good number of times as well as up top. I see he scored his fourth of the season against Bayern a couple of weeks ago as well, and scored against Dortmund earlier in the season.
His agents seem to feed stories to the foreign media a lot. There's been a fair bit of chatter about him not wanting to play for Watford. If the comments I've seen are true he sounds like he'd expect a nailed on starting XI spot every week.
