    No I’m not.

Look at my other posts. Most of them are just occasional pointless drivel made in an attempt at humour. I never get involved in pointless arguments.

    These are the facts.

Was the late penalty against United the game we won 3-1 ? If so I remember, living in Manchester, a lot of United fans being very angry that a foul wasn't given in the build up to our first ? Goal . I didn't think it was a foul but understood why they thought it was and could have easily been a decision that a biased ref would have given against us ...

Wow....I've inadvertently stumbled across the Michael Oliver fan club. I don't think even his mum would defend him as much as the members on this forum.

Not one person has picked up on the opinion I had when I said that Oliver disallowed a valid Burnley goal as being one of the very few things he's actually given for us. So many have picked up on the Gray goal not being his fault for it being disallowed, yet not one person has mentioned the same thing when it was actually in our favour against Burnley. The same reason, the linesman signalled and he disallowed it.

People are happy to accept that he did us a favour against Burnley, but are up in arms when it's the other way around saying it's not his fault. Probably no one has mentioned it because it doesn't fit their rhetoric. It's just weird that forum members go out of their way to try and defend this official.

It’s weirder that you go out of your way to criticise him disallowing the goal on Friday.

Your last paragraph is a bit odd. I would say fans are happy to accept that both calls were marginal and he went on the advise of his assistant, as every referee would have done. That’s the simple truth of it.

It's not a bit odd at all. It seems that people on this forum want to defend Oliver. They claim it was unfair for me to blame him for the disallowed goal on Friday, yet are happy to accept he did us a favour against Burnley by disallowing their goal. Do you agree both goals were incorrectly signalled offside by the linesman? So if the view is it's more of the fault of the linesman, why are people so happy to accept it was Oliver who disallowed the Burnley goal? Should be the same thing for both goals.

It seems bizarre that anybody would try to blame the referee for going with the decision of the lino. That’s what he’s going to do almost every time. In fact, the only time I’d expect him to go against the lino is if he sees a deflection that the lino missed, or somehow ends up being better position to make the onside/offside call.

    Both are rare occasions.

This whole discussion is just totally mental.

You are correct - both goals incorrectly flagged by linesman. Isn't that the end of the debate as Oliver was not responsible for either error?

Mike Dean continuing his vendetta against Crystal Palace I see - failed to award a blatant penalty.

This debate is a fine example of showing how obtuse forum members can be.

I point out that Oliver is a c****. Several forum members defend his honour, then others wade in to muddy the waters by deliberately pretending not to understand the point being made.

If your point is Oliver isn’t s great ref but was faultless for the disallowed goal on Friday then that would be a reasonable viewpoint. People have simply correctly disagreed with you that Oliver was at fault for the offside.

They're not "defending his honour" they are pointing out that on this occasion he went with the Lino's flag.. as we see 99% of the time.

HB1 is the master fisherman of this forum. The comment 'several forum members defend his honour' made me laugh quite loudly.

This is quite the most bizarre few pages I’ve ever seen and based on this forum that’s saying something.

We are an amazing team at the moment.

If you watch us play you'll be amazed how we win any games playing like we do, and how we manage a clean sheet.

This is not a bad thing!

We do need some decent signings in the summer though, so we don't crash and burn next season.

Do you not know the official system in the Prem? Watch any ref take a Liverpool or Man U home game and this will demonstrate how this pans out for away teams. Since the beginning of time...

Along with the Michael Oliver fan club! I only come on here after a game to see HB1 analysis of the ref. It never disappoints but this is surely the best one yet.

So who do we fancy in tonights draw?

Im hoping for Millwall away because Id like to see if the bloke in the pink fake Lacrosse shirt is still there mouthing off , whilst offering to take on the whole away end on his own.

Anyone else remember that game under Lewington, (I think), where the whole away end sung back to him "In touch with your feminine side" which I thought was rather a trite and witty response considering it came from a football stand.
