I think what he was saying is that it was something ‘new’ to him at that level of football. Kyle Walker had played many games as CB in his breakthrough season at Sheffield United so it wasn’t a completely alien position for him. Would be interesting to hear or if someone could readers have whether Wilmot had played in CM at any point at Stevenage, be it youth level or first team. I can’t imagine we have just made this decision with nothing to base it on.
I realise you're being sarcastic, but I actually do know better than the coaching staff. It's been proven time and time again. The only reason I'm not our head coach is because I'm making shitloads out of computers.
Will man eventually achieve immortality by translating himself into computer code? Apologies if you don’t work on that side of the business.
I've already developed an interface for this sort of thing, but the government asked me to shut it down, because mankind just isn't evolved enough yet. I said I would, for now, but I might bring it out in the future, if I want to.
Nonetheless there are numerous examples of players evolving position significantly over their careers (and not just to hide loss of pace). Remember that Kenny Burns nutter who played for Cloughie?
The only bit I was being sarcastic about was wishing the fat gammon a nice weekend. I know you know better, because I created you that way back in BWL days, before I lost the password and you went rogue.
footballitalia @footballitalia 3m3 minutes ago Breaking: #WatfordFC send Ben Wilmot to #Udinese ! https://www.football-italia.net/134061/watfords-wilmot-udinese
Very strange seeing as he is clearly above Chalobah in the midfield pecking order and can play CB. I'd like to hope that means someone is coming in
Why? He’s not looked at all out of his depth in either of his games against premier league opposition. Give him more game time here.
Big pressure on the lad to walk into a relegation battle.... EDIT: Nothing on WFC official twitter page yet.
Di Marzo says loan with an option to purchase. Baffling. Though almost certainly nonsense. Hope we have guarantees about his playing time.
This is a strange one, why risk him last night and then ship him out today, he looks a natural and a great prospect, I look forward to seeing him play again for us next season!
I have no issues with him getting experience abroad, so long as he plays. If it gets chalobah closer to match fitness it's win win. Hopefully not long term deal though!
Just looked at the Serie A table, Udinese are in the 'at risk' mix. I guess we are sending some squad players to help them get out and stay out of trouble.
Explains why they gave him a run out. Put him in the shop window for papa Pozzo. Throw the spurs game in the process, but, hey, healthy loan fee Incoming $$$$$
Just been interviewed on Sky Sports. Said it was too good an opportunity to turn down and will help him get to where he wants to be a year from now. Keen to get 90 minutes regularly in a top league.
Well I hope he plays loads, looks class and comes back in the summer ready to play regularly for us. Will be disappointed if, having finally signed a promising young centre back, we go and get rid after just a few months (and a handful of accomplished displays!)
Fair enough, Ben. I think we'll regret that when we're lining up with Mapps and Britos when crisis hits.
