Well it is correct that we made 11 changes for both of our FA Cup matches so far, however we all know that in some cases as per Cathcart, Janmat and Gray on Saturday they were coming back from injuries, Success and Britos has been subs in the previous games, and all of the players used in the FA Cup so far with the exception of Gomes, Penaranda and Wilmot have started P.L. games this season!

When you analyse the team we all know the word " reserves " just goes with ignorance!

I didn't talk about the make-up of the team, only that it has been completely changed from the Prem team. A feather in our cap if we could win the Cup having made 11 changes each round and not having played a Cup match at the Vic.

Get onto Man City, Gino, and make it happen!

There are conspiracy theories that are plausible. Then there's the rest. Why on Earth would anybody feel City need a helping hand? Besides, why would the FA even want them to win everything?

I really wasn't picking on you!, just pointing out to Mr Sutton that 11 changes doesn't actually mean what it Says!

I’d argue very few conspiracies are feasible, especially in today’s data sharing age.

However, I’d guess the rationale would be fairly similar as to how Qatar won the World Cup bid.

Agree City get very easy draws.

So far they’ve got Oxford United, Fulham, Leicester and Burton to get to the league cup final; Lyon, Hoffenheim, Shakhtar and Shalke to probably get into the Champions League quarters; and Burnley and Boro/ Newport in the FA Cup.

Hoping for Portsmouth, as it's only a 20 minute hop down the A3/on the train from where I live. Also, our resident cabbie is a massive Pompey fan. He is a lovely bloke who always looks after us but, whenever the subject of football comes up (i.e. always), he can never resist making hilarious "jokes" along the lines of "are Watford still in the Premier League/haven't they been relegated yet", etc etc. I don't want to tempt fate by saying this but I will love it if we beat them. Love it.

Indeed. I’d like to see more genuine journalists as pundits - some of the guests on Sunday supplement for example. But no. It’s an endless production line of Ryan Mason/Robbie Savage types. And I put Alex Scott in that bracket as well.

Could we be the first team to win the competition without playing a home game ?

I would say that for the first time since being promoted, we don’t really have any ‘reserves’ as such. On their day, Doucoure and Peyrerya are arguably our best players and a cut above the rest, but they also have far too many quite games. Every one of our midfielders has been first choice at some point, and they are all capable of being first choice in the future. Look at Capoue, nobody could have seen his transformation coming. Chalobah was comfortably first choice until his injury, likewise Cleverley. We haven’t bought a centre back in what seems like a decade so they are all pretty much of a muchness. Gray has been first choice and has warmed the bench, as has Deeney. Peneranda and Success are raw, yet both easily have the potential to be a lot better than Deeney and Gray on any given day.

In short I think almost anyone of our players is capable of putting in a performance equal to or better than one of their counterparts on any given day, and our so called star players are still far too inconsistent.

If Chalobah keeps getting picked for these games it's going to cost us the cup.

Comically bad again on Saturday. Couldn't even complete a simple short pass. Sad!

Nope. As @Otter said above, Man Utd did it in 1990.

Is this the round when our fans start wanting to win the Cup or does it need to be the Quarters?

It needs to be in the final in time added on when we are 1 goal up.

Just wondering of the teams that have won the cup in the past are there any that have played all their games in that competition away from home using a frozen ball and appearing last on match of the day in every round?

    Au contraire.

It would be excellent to see Clive at work in the studio, manmarking Jamie Redknapp, as it were.

Have to be careful what you wish for. BT have tried to mix it up by asking former referee's to join panels and in studios etc and its awful.

Nope. On Saturday they had Peter Walton doing their equivalent of Soccer Saturday. They regularly have a referee doing that show. And it's like they are told to show no personality whatsoever.

Pretty poor draw from QPR and Portsmouth's point of view.

Hardly a glamour tie, definitely going to get knocked out and not even an away day somewhere nice.

    Poor sods...

I think we may be the first team that could win the cup with 11 loans from Udinese whilst having changed our manager 3 times during the course of the competition.
