How is the monster looking vs the mighty Qatar ? Will be a good test against a team who have already qualified for the next world cup.
Have you ever been to Georgia and California ? Been to Nice and the isle of Greece ? Ever been to me ?
IMO not really impressive - wasn't in the last round either against Bahrain. Judge for yourself here if you like - https://www.twitch.tv/juanontop
Bit of controversy - Qatar took the lead, South Korea equalised about 30 seconds later, but VAR ruled it out for offside. Five minutes left...
I watched the second half and thought he looked pretty good, and was basically having to act as a one-man defence a lot of the time. Yeah he got in lots of blocks, and also looks rapid - certainly quicker than any of our other CBs. Combined with his aerial ability I reckon he's promising. Korea have just been knocked-out, I'm hoping it's soon announced that he'll join us.
A matter of opinion I suppose - for me, even though they won, the Qatar attack were decidedly unimpressive so he didn't really have much to play against. And their goal was from a shot from about 30 yards out, right in the centre of the goal - which Kim elected to dive over...
Of course the standard of the opposition wasn't great, but it still appeared as if he has the raw attributes to be a success. He dealt with everything he had to quite comfortably. Qatar's goal was absolutely nothing to do with KSJ - as you say it was from 30 yards, and so the nearest player to the shooter was a central midfielder. Then the ball actually went passed Korea's other CB. KSJ is no.4, as you can see at 9:27 the shot was from the other side of the goal to KSJ (KSJ is their right cb, the shot is from the left side of the goal passed the left CB). As a side-note, I think the GK was most to blame, a better keeper saves that.
I think that's right but what the hell is Harlow doing in that song ? Was it the only place on the planet that would fit ? Even Marlow would have been better - The Compleat Angler is decent.
Ken Barlow could have used in an emergency. Actually, I believe it is a reference to Jean Harlow. ‘The t is silent as in Harlow.’
I presume this is a whoosh? Damn, RD beat me to it despite being thousands of miles away. I was always more troubled by “the isle of Greece”. What does that mean? “Isles” would have scanned, and would have been geographically accurate.
True but I think Harlow is very much in the more peripheral outer suburbs too. EDIT Just seen R "font of all knowledge" D's post.
Looking at it again, you're correct - although there is no KSJ on the field. There's a KJS who is the RB, a KSG - but he's the keeper, a KYG who is the other CB and 'our' KMJ. The guy I thought was number 4 was actually number 5...
Haha, yeah I meant to type KMJ (who was still number 4) But yeah, you must have been looking at the wrong player.
The communication between Cathcart and a South Korean could be hilarious. What’s more, I’m excited to see Holebas try and argue with him...
