You lot are bringing down the transfer value with every negative post. We want him to stay & also want Joka/Vydra back.
Suited to the Italian league. They generally just wander round at walking pace for 90 mins. Nothing too tiring , he might last a whole half.
Moving Okaka and Zeegelaar to Udinese solves nothing. The wages of these useless commodities remain in the group. Enables Pozzo in his own mind to avoid dealing with his poor recruitment.
If he plays at Udinese his value will go up. It will do nothing but go down here. Of course, public self-flagellation would be more enjoyable for those of us that like to feel like we're all football executives, but in the absence of any real offers, this makes sense.
Why would he play for Udinese? He isn’t fit for purpose. If we could sell him for zero it would be the best news we get this window. Get the wages off the books. Ditto Zeegelaar and Prodl.
Why are you worried about the wages of 2 players who likely aren’t anywhere near the highest earners? Plus we have mutual interest with Udinese but I would say the wages would be off our books and on theirs. The finances of the two clubs will be separate for obvious reasons. Okaka and Zeegelaar taking permanent moves ANYWHERE is good news.
They may remain within the group, but Watford won't be paying their salaries anymore. We don't pay the salaries of the Udinese squad, so as soon as they leave these shores, that's it, they are no longer our players or financial concern.
Fantastic news. This coupled with that other lump of dog faeces we are giving them should be enough to finally see them through the relegation trap door. LOL
We could easily still be paying some or all of the wages (Zeegelaar is on loan). I worry because when people say we have no Richarlison money to reinvest it is because we have this pair plus Prodl on long term contracts on a combined 100k per week. We need these players gone or they are a burden for years to come. I fear this just papers over the cracks (unless they genuinely think they will boost Udinese).
I am sure that they will be made permanent if they do well. Staying in the Italian league is much easier and the bottom 8-10 sides in that league are nowhere near as good as the Premier League. They may both do Ok in Italy.
Yes in terms of these players. Overall it’s very successful but some of the duds are holding us back in terms of future budget because they have long contracts. I don’t think shuffling duds between our clubs resolves that. It may be that they are impossible to dispose of externally.
It's probably easier in Italy where the Pozzos have links in law enforcement to turn a blind eye than over here.
Well that’s the way the cookie crumbles, isn’t it? The model has always seemed to be, take a load of cheap-ish punts on players, and put them on long contracts. Sometimes it works (Rich, Pereyra), sometimes it doesn’t (Oulare, Zeegelaar) and if anyone wants someone, they have to pay over the odds to get them. I look at Arsenal losing Ramsey and I prefer our method, even if it leaves us with some duds
The Wobby says it 'understands' no deal has been done at the moment: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ker-stefano-okaka-not-completed-udinese-move/ If traditional holds, I expect it'll be officially announced within the hour.
Can't help thinking that Kevin Affleck's role at the club is linked to the Observer getting no inside information/actively being told the wrong thing!
I miss WDSport and KA, it was fun watching articles being edited after release and who can forget his Jurado comments.
