Alan Nixon on twitter (usually more reliable than most on twitter, but that isn't saying much!) has suggested a couple of times that we are one of the teams in for Solanke on loan. Something came up which stopped the deal happening with Palace. At the time I thought Liverpool were potentially inserting a minimum game time clause and that's why Palace pulled out but who knows. From the admittedly little I've seen of Solanke, he is pretty poor.
Just another Jerome Sinclair. Has credit because of the U20 World Cup thing and the laughable England cap he earned by joining Liverpool. But as you said, has looked out of his depth anytime I've seen him in the EPL™.

Hmm, I'm going to buck the trend here, from the few games I've seen of him, he looks an ideal Prem league player. Tall, relatively strong, can dribble, pick a pass and looks technically gifted. However, he doesn't have enough 1st team experience at any level to demonstrate he'd be an instant hit. Fairly pointless if he's a 'work in progress' to have him short term.
He was reported in Sunday's press to have said that he prefers Palace over Watford or Rangers. On that basis, I hope Gino tells him to bugger off.
£15m for Solanke, jesus christ. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...verpool-outcast-dominic-solanke-escape-route/
Lunacy isn't it. £15m for a player with 8 goals since his debut 4 years ago and 7 of them in some second rate league! Why on earth do Bournemouth want him?
Jordon Ibe mkII - they're welcome to him. P.S. I had to do a double-take, his name really is spelled 'Jordon'.
Depends what "the deal" is and how much is performance related. A bit like the £18m we paid for Gray but probably didn't..... Young english striker....18 goals in 30 England U19 & U20 games....
It’s because Callum Wilson is wanted by Chelsea and he is trying to force a move. He doesn’t want to be at Bournemouth anymore and doesn’t want this opportunity to pass by. If Bournemouth continue to get in his way, he will hand in a transfer request to force the move through.
Tammy Abraham seems much better value to me for what is likely to be similar money. Solanke literally has no pedigree in senior football yet.
Maybe, maybe not. I seem to remember that they pipped us to the signature of Juan Iturbe - a loan deal with the option of signing permanently at the end for a similar fee. They dumped him after two games.
Ah cute cuddly little Muff, battling the odds, tiny ground with no money, getting by on a wing and a prayer. All that is good about football. Shows what you have to pay to buy an unproven player who has the words "English" and "Striker" on his CV.
Lots of great comments on the bbc website including; "My old Ford Mondeo’s on its way out. We Buy Any Car offered me £300 for it, but I want £40,000 for it. Might give Eddie Howe a call."
This is mind boggling. Liverpool paid £3m for him at tribunal 18 months ago, he's since made 7 starts and a whole bunch of timewasting sub appearances, managing just one goal for them and now Bournemouth have snapped him up for £19m plus add ons. Madness.
Highly rated but price appears ridiculous. Bournemouth won't be going down this year so guess there is little risk at this stage
Would prefer Origi or Abraham if we are going splash out for a striker this window. Okaka going has got me excited. OR Fast-track Wilmot at CB, get in another midfielder (Denis Suarez) and push him up front...problem solved.
