Not interested. He's a striker and we have loads of those. Time to buy another midfielder, maybe Livermore for £15m ?
Not quite for the January window as he has a broken ankle. But SSN are saying Arsenal aren’t renewing Welbeck’s contract so he becomes free in the summer...
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....onderkid-Brahim-Diaz-joining-Real-Madrid.html Highly rated youngster Brahim Diaz looks set to leave Man City for Real Madrid with Madrid paying a token £8m fee. If we were to try and hijack this deal, I wonder if 1st team football opportunities would overall the draw of sitting on Real Madrid’s bench. Fits the Pozzo model for sure and is a very good technical footballer.
Kaboul's a goner. If we could then loan out/sell Okaka & Zeegelaar and bring in say Origi & Jeison Murillo (purely speculative), I'd be very happy with that. Reckon Seb Prodl may want a short-term move back to Germany too.
Very very quiet on the rumours front given it's 21 December. Vazquez, Simeone, Gabbiadini, etc where are you ?
Genuinely think January will be used to offload the players we have no need for. There is literally no point in Zeegelaar, Okaka or Britos even being here. Outside bet that we may sign a CB if we get rid of one or two but I wouldn’t bet anything at all on us buying a striker seeing as Penaranda is yet to even emerge.
i don't think we need a lot this January, a CB and a CF to replace Britos and Okaka should just about do it I can't see either of them starting, maybe Okaka against Woking, but both are 5th choice in their respective positions and neither are of a good enough standard for what we want to achieve. If necessary just cancel their contracts
What has happened to Prodl? It seems that he has lost it and is out of favour much like Britos. Our back up for Kabesele and Cathcart seems to be Marriappa. If they both get injured or banned.......
I think we will need to buy out their contracts to get them off the books. Just as well that we renewed Britos or we could have lost him for nothing !
If Britos gets some panto work, does Gino get a cut of the takings? I could see him as a rambunctious buccaneer.
Britos as the pirate, that is. In a seldom cast role, Gino would be the owner of the pirate ship who brings in a mix of older, post their peak Mediterranean pirates & boyish Caribbean pirates with outstanding flair.
Has Kaboul gone? Loans for Britos and or Prodl seem likely as well as Kaboul if he’s still around. You’d say we should keep a couple of them in case we get injuries but they aren’t the sort of players who seem to have good natural fitness ready to come in and do a job. We’re safevthis season so maybe Wilmot as the 4th option? Unless we do sign someone of course. Can’t see us getting a striker in Jan though. Hopefully Pen can add something at some point in time
Unless the right CB or ST signing becomes available, which is unlikely in January, then given our current position we might as well wait until the summer (unless the Pozzos want to give a real push to us possibly obtaining a European spot).
He's gone. At least that's my hypotenuse. Will he sine for someone else ? Sorry, going off at a tangent.......
Are there any realistic rumours out there about possible outgoing players or new signings in the coming window?
Unfortunately not apart from the outgoing Doucoure possibly. I check obsessively in the hope of exciting news but to no avail thus far.
Penaranda has Plantar Fasciitis and despite constant ‘he’ll be back training in 2 weeks’ pronouncements, we will not see him kick a ball this season. Remember TheProfessor.
I very much doubt we will see a striker come in over January but a central defender is a possibility and probably a necessity.
Yep. Alacazar, Tulipsca and Jerood all coming in I'm told. Doucoure, Capoue and Gracia all to Everton.
Lets hope we are just staying under the radar and will sign someone fantastic up front primarily, and a decent CB as well. However, it is only to be one class player then I still think it should be a striker who can take advantage of most of the chances we create, unlike our current bunch.
Here's a list of next summer's Premier League free agents. Quite a few tempting prospects on that list, although even as a free transfer, they would cost a lot in salary and massive signing on fees. https://www.football.london/premier-league/january-transfer-window-free-agents-15605164 How about Antonio Valenica, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala, David Luiz or Phil Jagielka to fit the bill at central defence? We were sniffing around Alberto Moreno last season also. What about that striker. Anyone fancy any of the following? Olivier Giroud, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck, Fernando Llorente, Shinji Okazaki. There are some talent from midfield also.....Ashley Young, Mousa Dembele, Cesc Fabregas, Juan Mata, James Milner, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Aaron Ramsey, Mohamed Diame. Clearly not all players will be leaving their clubs, but these are all coming to the end of their contracts in the summer.
