I hate him as well and think we should start campaigning to throw him out of football and suggest that with immediate effect watford boycott all James corden based merchandise

Something also happened after the full-time whistle that resulted in a couple of Spammers running towards the exits and laughter from those around me, any ideas? I assume they tried looking 'well-ard' by throwing something towards our lot?

Well, he's certainly playing very well at the moment.
The boy done good again yesterday.
Of course, it's pretty clear Southgate is concentrating on young players. (Except Ashley, who is, er, Young).

Foster is commanding with the defenders.

Dozy players like Stones benefit from being instructed.

Pickford lacks Ben’s authority. He shouts but no one listens.

    Good to hear.

Two years practice stopping Spam fans attacking each other/invading the pitch/assaulting the owners must have trained the stewards up.

    My ratings:-

Foster - 9/10 - Amidst the almost universal uncritical cheering of Ben, I had one or two nagging doubts about him to be honest. After all, he'd got relegated last year. I liked the way he dominated his area and came out strongly and decisively so often. Some great shot stopping too, but I thought there were a couple of goals conceded where he'd remained absolutely static and perhaps could have done more. Anyway, not yesterday. I thought he played an absolute blinder and my confidence in him is fully restored. Some tremendous saves, decent distribution and the usual control of his area.

Holebas - 8/10 - Another one who had an excellent game defensively. Got some excellent ball-winning tackles in. Also set the move on the way that led to Pererya getting wiped out for a pen that no ref, no matter how bitter his hatred of us, could deny! On the down side, as others have mentioned, set pieces continue to fail miserably. Interesting to see that it appears that Javi was stung when he read my complaints about our pathetic long throw-ins and we tried a variety of novel invented trick throws, none of which really worked. The most bizarre of which was him hurling it about three feet over Pererya's head and straight out for a goal kick. Further work is obviously needed.... Finally, I thought his booking, for once, was unjustified.

Femenia - 6/10 - After a bright start last season, when it looked like we'd got ourselves a bargain, Kiko is looking much more average this year. Didn't provide much in the way of attacking threat and is a bit lightweight in the tackle. I think he's getting identified by the opposition as the 'weak link' to attack. Janmaat meanwhile, after showing himself so keen to get back that he'd play with the U23s, seems to have disappeared again. Not that I think he's much better than Kiko incidentally. I wonder whether Navarro might at least make the bench in this run of games?

Kabasele - 6/10 - Played OK really, but silly mistakes in the first 15 mins or so which, if it were against a more potent team than Wet Sham, might have had us chasing the game. He really has to cut out those errors if he's going to make it in the Prem - and we know from some of his displays he has the potential to be an above average and sought-after player at that level.

Cathcart - 7/10 - Week after week he turns in solid, dependable, hard-working performances. Doesn't get panicky. Picks good passes out of defence to set us on the break and is good in the air. A future captain? Nearly deflected that header in under the bar, but perhaps managed to take some of the sting out of it, allowing Foster to make the save. Worked really hard and looked a bit knackered towards the end.

Doucoure - 7/10 - A decent hard-tackling performance. Still not really up to what he was doing last season, but good enough. Sprinted back like a maniac and got one really crucial toe end on the ball to take it off their forward just as he was about to shoot from about 6 yds out. Brilliant defending. Did however miss an absolute unchallenged sitter when set up beautifully by the Della Fella and passing was still a bit wayward on occasions.

Capoue - 7.5/10 - Good to have him back. It would be exaggerating to say we 'controlled the midfield', but it wouldn't be to say that we 'won the midfield battle'. In great part that was down to Etienne. Seems to have mainly lost that languid slow-poke style he had under other managers and seems to move both himself and the ball a lot quicker than previously. Javi's decision to bring him back in for Quina was absolutely proven. Extra half point for managing to restrain himself from kicking Antonio squarely up the arse and giving away a pen when he was going for that header against the bar in the 2nd half.

Sema - 7/10 - Oh my God....you criticised Kenny. You bastards! I thought he was fine. You can see he's giving it everything he's got and he's got pace, strength. makes decent runs off the ball and has some tricks too. Unfortunately, his kryptonite is his one-footedness. It's not going to take much to work out how to defend against him. I think he's got enough to hold down a spot in the squad.

Pererya - 8/10 - Excellent game. He's going to score soon. In a minute in fact. You can feel it coming. Two maybe. Has a real understanding with Del-a-Fay-ooooo and the quick feet and intricate play between them is an absolute treat. Some of the neatest and trickiest football I've ever seen Watford play.

Deulofeu - 9.5/10 - What a player! Almost everything we did that was threatening came through him. Tremendous footballing brain. Brilliant one touch to open them up and set Pererya away for the pen. Set Deeney up for the one he fluffed. Set Doucoure up for the one that he fluffed. Gave up and scored another brilliant one himself. Could easily have ended up with a goal and three assists. I hope we hang on to him and Bobby P for a long time. Together they're astounding. I adore the weight of his balls. That is the first time I have ever said that about another man.

Deeney - 6/10 - Took his penalty very well indeed, but apart from that and the very good run he made to get clear, only to tamely punt it to their keeper, didn't really do much. He seems to have lost that 'new man, new resolution' verve and spirit he had at the start of the season. It was his man who flicked on their corner onto the inside of the post - Troy didn't even manage to get off the ground. I would perhaps have liked to have seen Success replace him earlier.

    Subs:-

    Cleverley - 6.5/10
    - Came on for poor Kenny in a slightly more defensive role and did pretty well, although nothing of particular note. In the absence of injuries (well done new medical team incidentally!) it's hard to see him getting a starting spot any time soon though.

Success - Didn't get enough minutes in my opinion. He must be frustrated at not getting much game time recently. Champing at the bit hopefully...

Mapps - Time wasting tactical sub only

Mostly this. Caveat about Sema. Did fantastically well holding up, dragging defenders around and then undid it all with a badly directed or woefully underhit pass.
This can be easily corrected, though!

It was actually Doucs who got a toe to the ball, after Kabasele had dived in and been totally sold by Hernandez's turn

Judging by the way that BF and HG were celebrating together on the pitch after the final whistle there is a great camaraderie amongst our keepers.....

Another tactical masterclass from Javi and an outstanding team performance that fully merited the win. Douc and Capoue were magnificent. Holebas and Kiko dominated Anderson. Pereyra and Deulofeu terrified West Ham every time they got the ball. Ken Sema is turning out to be a real asset. With talented players, an astute coach and a great team spirit a lot can be achieved. We have all three and a European place is ours for the taking. COYH!!

Disappointing focus on GOS today. Normally this show is good and they are fair towards Watford, but today it was all about how disappointed West Ham were and how well they played. Very little credit given to Watford, apart from riding their luck. Was a bit of praise for Deulofeu and Foster.

Mick McCarthy did say at the very end, Watford are a good side, which seemed to surprise everyone.

I don't know. Southgate might think Foster still plays for WBA. That's Foster's only realistic chance imo.

Young Kenneth Sema did alright yesterday, thought he worked tirelessly and got Femenia out of jail on a couple of occasions. Sadly, Kiko has developed into a complete and utter incompetent defender, by far our weakest player

I see an article today saying the west ham fan that throws the paper cup towards Deeney after his penalty faces a lifetime ban. Bit extreme don’t you think?
Is that not the point in issuing paper cups so that no one can use it as a weapon I don’t condone it but I can put myself in the west ham fans shoes. Deeney taunting me and I see red mist with my cup of Pepsi. It’s not a coin or other heavy object it’s a paper cup ffs

Kiko going forward can cause problems, just think he was very cautious of Anderson yesterday. As for ken he’s played a few times now and the opposition have watched the videos and will show him on to that right foot.cant moan about his effort though and he does defend

You can douse someone with coffee dregs by throwing a paper cup. Exceedingly dangerous thing to do.
