He’s being positive. We haven’t lost yet and it’s possible a huge sink hole will open in the centre circle this afternoon and the match will be postponed.
You couldn't make it up. Our worst manager since promotion and the daft little c*** at the top thinks this is the one to offer a new contract to. And not just any contract, the longest contract in the history of the club. I'm going to boo with the force of a thousand elephant trunks tonight.
That's surprising. I would say though that previous seasons we over perform with a system that creates few chances and that catches us out later in the season. (Silva-gate withstanding in exceptional circumstance) make a lot of high quality chances that we spurn, but by and large we play a lot better now than we have done by this point in previous seasons. Apart from some dodgy personnel selection (Don't forget kabs was making errors before his red card) our tactics by and large work well with the squad we have and we don't have an underlying issue of "We look too open", "We don't make chances." Or "We lack creativity." And is just a case of taking them. All about confidence and Gracia has proven already he will change things if they don't work like Wolves away.
The red card decision on Capoue has been upheld, but the club are taking further action. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/news-capoue-appeal-update Now it gets a little tricky. Capoue will not be allowed to play tonight, so if the appeal is successful what happens then? Watford would have had an illegal ban on a key player. The opinion from all "experts" on football shows said it was certainly going to be overturned, then Ref Watch put a spanner in the works, when Gallagher and Mills categorically said it was a red. Since then opinion seems to have been divided. Why has the passing of time ensured this challenge got progressively worse?
So W2-D2-L6 is fine and the fact that it is likely to be 2-2-8 after Monday is ok as he will change things if they don't work ?
So now we know that if any player gets two feet on the ball in a tackle he will be sent off. That'll make the rest of the season interesting.
What I don't get is Nacho man has admitted he wasn't touched then surely his histrionics should be investigated for simulation.
How long do you reckon you'll stay? Do you think you'll last until kick-off tonight or will you have seen enough during the pre-match warm up to know it's time to leave?
It's not an exact science so it's hard to say. But if that prat on the sidelines is wearing his ill-fitting tracky tonight then I'll be out of there before z-cars has finished.
The thing is, it's being reported as a two footed challenge, but it wasn't. It was only one foot. That's clear on every clip I've seen and that has been multiple angles. Capoue's left foot is planted on the ground with his studs on the floor. His right foot goes towards the ball with his studs, but then so does the Leicester player's. It's not a two footed challenge where Capoue is airborne and out of control. This cannot be viewed as this type of tackle. I really hope this other appeal is upheld, then the club can give the FA a rightful two fingers and campaign for compensation over incorrectly losing a key player for one of the toughest fixtures of the season. The only reason this has been upheld, imo, is because Watford have already had one red card rescinded, plus Capoue should have been sent off against Palace.
It’s clear the football authorities don’t want any kind of tackling in the game. That would remove the need for diving of course.
Ihaenacho has supposedly said that once to Isaac Success who in turn has said it to Gracia who made it public. Whilst I get the jist of it, that’s very different from Ihaenacho publically saying it himself or providing a statement to the FA backing Capoue. It always looked a tricky one to me - I struggle to reason why any player tackles like that. Studs showing with your other foot planted next to the ball whilst leaning back? It’s not natural for sure and gives the impression of being out of control. Personally if it was against us, I’d want a red card.
I'll be in the red lion til 8pm, I'll be the hardcase at the bar that you're too scared to speak to, wearing the clothes you can't afford, with the haircut you're too bald to have. Bring yer tool (and I don't mean your dad. Actually, bring him and I'll thump his skull too).
And yet fellaini's challenge v palace strangely got zero retrospective action on a tackle that was effectively a lot worse.
Capoue needed to be dropped anyway . After over performing for 8 games he s reverted back to type recently and we need to get Chalobah up to speed as he is potentially our best midfielder .
Capoue's red card to be rescinded at 7:58pm tonight, before he bursts out of that box they put the ball on, throws his beret into the crowd, sings the Marseillaise, scores 4 from outside the area and celebrates with a Marcel Marceau mime in front of the Rookery.
All teams that aren't the Top 4 go through periods of being ***** no matter what. We have good but inconsistent players. The cliché of "If they were better they wouldn't be here." Does to a degree ring true. As fans we expect to see the best from a team week in week out, but our reliance on our creative players coming up with Worldie strikes week after week was bound to catch us out as our strikers can't finish from 6-12 yards out. We do the right things but our strike force lets down all our good work even though we make a number of good chances better strikers would tuck away. I would be a lot more concerned if we weren't making them.
Think Watford are giving out 'Pride' t-shirts. Unfortunately, I don't think it will fit over the 500 layers I will be wearing tonight
