If you're using a mobile device just hold your finger on the letter n. Works for all accents, umlauts etc.

    A long long time ago
    I can still remember how
That music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

    But February made me shiver
    With every paper I'd deliver
    Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
    I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
    Something touched me deep inside
    The day the music died

    So
    Bye, bye Adelberto Penaranda
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

Pointless wasting any time on a song for this guy, unless you’re planning on attending U23 games at the training ground. I bet he never makes a match day squad, let alone gets on the field. He’ll be the next Will Hoskins, our savior-in-waiting who never gets a chance to shine.

You never struck me as being so influential and talented in the lyrical department.

Will Hoskins was given quite a few chances to shine, (60 appearances believe it or not, 25 + 35 sub), just that he didn't take them!

I was tired of my deeney, we´d been together too long
Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song
So while he lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read

"If you like Peñaranda, and getting caught in the rain
If you´re not into yoga, if you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape
I´m the love that you´ve looked for, write to me, and escape"

Did he really play that often? Wow. I feel as though the only thing I can recall from his time here are weekly forum posts anointing him as our savior on the basis of zero evidence. Or maybe that’s Joe Garner. Either way, both were crap.

I’’m profoundly in love with Penaranda
    He’s got knee-socks and orange-coloured hair
The tenderness with which I adore him
    Is something fine and rare.

I’m profoundly in love with Penaranda
Things aren’t always what they seem,
The tenderness with which I adore him
    Is indeed a love supreme.

This bloke had better be worth waiting for as quite frankly our current form is dire! 8 points from 27 I think?! Woeful.

Thank god we have Cardiff coming up....

So Gracia sees him as a central striker, which is interesting. I thought he was more of a wide man, a bit like Richarlison.

He obviously can play of the left, but if we're going to use him centrally, it gives us yet another forward. On the books we have Deeney, Gray, Success, Okaka, Sinclair, Lukebakio (ok he's a right winger, but can score goals and has played CF in his last two games) and Penaranda. Of course we have Pedro coming in (Jan 2020) and Cucho. Also there was a strong rumour we had signed Stuparevi*, who is another central striker.

It's going to be tough for Penaranda to get ahead of Deeney and Success as a central striker. I can only see him getting in if we play a 4-4-2 and either Deeney or Success injured. If he's decent, which I suspect he is, then he should be able to get ahead of the other strikers currently available to us.

If we play him wide left, which is a position I think is more likely to be open to him, he's only got Pererya and Sema vying for that position. He'll only get in if Pereyra is injured or as a sub, although I should imagine he would be considered ahead of Sema.

It's the way it goes sometimes. We are in the Premier League after all. Every point is precious. We have proved we have a team that competes very well against the vast majority. I would say only the likes of City and Liverpool are way ahead of us. You have to be perfect, get all the decisions, plus they need to be off it to be able to get a result against those two. All other sides we are in with a shout of getting a good result.

I don't expect Penaranda to be clinical though. Just another tricky player, who can do the unexpected and makes things happen. I see him as a Richarlison type, so is not something we have currently in the squad. He will give us another option, but I don't necessarily expect him to be a first class finisher.

Song for Guy? Now there's an idea!

Unfortunately it's mainly instrumental but perhaps we could hum his name for the first 3 minutes or so? Or possible give it some of the 'la la la's' that football fans are so fond of (when they forget the words)
Finish it off by adapting the original lyrics.. "Adalberto Peñaranda.. he is everything.. he is everything....'

I bloomin' well hope he can get in the side ahead of Deeney - if he's not good enough to then there's no point him even being here.
