May help a few horns getting to the game. https://www.rmt.org.uk/news/rmt-withdraws-planned-swr-strike-on-10th-november/
If they do you will still be able to get there, will be a bit of a pain and take longer. In the case of disruption, you are allowed to take any reasonable alternative route at no extra cost. Anywhere on the Euston line Watford Jnc. Harrow Hemel Berko Tring etc. take train to Coventry, change there and catch Cross Country train direct to Bournemouth.
Take a train from Watford to Coventry to get to Southampton via Bournemouth? I've been whooshed, haven't I?
Sorry train stops at Southampton before it gets to Bournemouth. Was not thinking clearly, thinking of what I was going to do myself, staying in Bournemouth for 3 nights and taking in the Southampton game. To put it right then, Train to Coventry, then change to Cross Country train to Southampton Central. Bit of a long way round, but at least you will get there.
See above post!! my bad on that one. Was thinking however, if the industrial action where to still go ahead, anyone with a train ticket can still get there, Coventry to Southampton is a service that would still be running. Yes it's a longer way round and yes it would take a while, but still better than not going at all.
Get to Paddington (via Euston, Baker Street or Bakerloo from Harrow), train to Reading, then Cross Country to Southampton.
Of course, it's that scantily clothed lass with the long hair riding through the city on horseback. An event well worth encountering in my opinion.
I wonder why on the official site, they are still saying the industrial action is on. How many fans is that putting off.
Well we all know it's off, makes them look a bit unprofessional in my opinion, especially if it keeps some of our fans away.
Got my tickets today. Saw that the coach is £15 per person so cheaper to drive down. Went down for a match on New Years day some years ago and got there from Watford in not much over an hour.
Sotons next 3 Home games are Watford, Manure and Arsenhole. They will be targeting our game for the only realistic chance of 3 points , so I’d like to see a some counterattacking at pace and pick them off like Muff did to us ( but without the cheating )
Saw this on another site which might interest people: "Worth noting for any Watford fans traveling down that there's engineering works between Basingstoke and Southampton, so it's either bus replacement from Basingstoke (2hr 14min total) or get the one train an hour "direct" that's re-routed via Havant (2hr total)"
They are guaranteed 3 points against us. 27% possession. 6 goal attempts, 1 on target while Delofeu peppers the supporters behind the goals with an assortment of attempts from 10 yards. It's already written in the stars.
Summary, Southampton are in a whole heap of trouble. No one likes Hughes. If we play like we have been doing and actually convert the chances we create we will win. If not it could be another Newcastle away day. All the plaudits but no points. Capoue suspended unfortunately but Chalobah should step in. Hopefully he won't be too rusty or lack fitness. Wilmot onto the bench. Masina in for Holebas and otherwise unchanged.
Rumours are that Hughes has been told hes sacked if he loses this game. Will be interesting to see how their players react. If they dont believe in him and possibly dislike him then they probably will barely turn up.
Novice ref for this one. Please about that. In fact I'm always pleased when I see the ref is not Mason, Moss, Oliver, Probert or Taylor. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-league-game-to-bee-overseen-by-simon-hooper/ I suspect we will be the better team in this game, but that guarantees nothing with Watford. Unlucky losers or worthy winners, I can see it going either way. Depends on whether we have our shooting boots or not.
We might get another celebratory pencil. Will only need another six 7-1's to get a full colouring set for my niece for Xmas.
Agree with HB that 4 or 5 of the EPL refs are sub standard. Not saying this would ever happen, but the logical resolution is to use the EPL money to lure the best 5 refs from the continent to referee in England. Nice, hefty bonus for living away from home should be enough to lure the best over to England.
