They did look woeful at the back against Cardiff.

 

The greatest thing the pozzo's ever did, was getting rid of this extremely limited manager and get a spoiler in who knew how to defend. The second half of that season was the worst in the entire 137 year history of our club, but QSF kept us up with a grim squad. This was the biggest achievement since the 2nd place finish which juxtaposes nicely with the biggest failure in recent times: not winning the title the year before.

Fulham are going to experience what would have been our fate: relegation having conceded 100 goals and being a national laughing stock, unless they get rid of this one dimensional helmet.

 

And we have the reputation for being quick to fire coaches?!!!

I'm not going to judge other teams without knowing the details, unlike the way are managerial changes are judged by ignorant pundits. But it does seem a bit harsh from the outside to chuck a manager after a dozen games in the EPL

 

One wouldn’t mistake him for a ray of sunshine on a good day, given his somewhat intense demeanour.

Normally you would say this is crazy but the goals against issue does seem out of hand.

I suspect he may be effective at a more established Prem outfit. You need a Quique for the first season.

 

I posted this in the Gracia our thread. Fulham have let in the second most goals in PL history at this stage of the season. I don’t agree with sacking him at this stage, but it’s clear our owners were right to want a safe pair of hands in our first season.

Fulham have spent £100m and are still struggling, we’d have been like lambs to the slaughter with our limited squad.

 

Anyone at this level who builds a defence around Alfie Mawson deserves everything they get.

 

He may be a very good championship manager but out of his depth in the premiership! which is not really a disgrace!

 

Don't think you have got that right. Half this forum have been up in arms at the time of, and ever since, his sacking here. The same half eulogising our use of 442 till this weekend I think.

Who picks the transfer prospects at Fulham?

The owner’s son & an algorithm were i/c although I don’t know if Joka if got more influence with promotion.

Mawson is one of those deceptive defenders who scores a couple of headers but isn’t very good at defending.

Will they come in for Prodl in January?

He'll be fine, as I've learned from the experts on here, his unrivalled use of substitutions will save the day every time.

 

He's an honourable man so he'll probably substitute himself when the time comes.

 

That would be a typically inspired move, that only Jokanovic could make.

Having said that, maybe if he'd picked the right job in the first place, he wouldn't have needed to make the change so soon.

I see Joka is getting a kicking from the usual suspects, however, I will always be grateful for the impact he had on our side in getting us promoted. I have nothing but respect for the guy, and hope he turns it around at Fulham.

 

I brelieve he was complaining that he didn"t get a say over signings, which may explain why their defenders are so woeful.

 

I always thought he was a good match for the geordies pre-Rafa "good squad manager - poor squad builder" Benitez...

This. They may have spent £100m but the team isn't great. Alfie Mawson FFS ! The relationship with the owner has always been awkward due to his limited say in transfers which makes the outcome even more obvious.
Q for someone who knows something about football - What team formation has he used in the prem ? There was always much debate here about whether he would stick with 3-5-2 in the prem and whether that would cause us to concede a hatful, as Fulham are doing.

Now I get he feels a bit let down, however, he wasn't slow to push for a move to West Brom when we didn't get promoted after the first season. It appears he's applying double standards.
