We are playing Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday. Emery likes to play out from the back, Petr Cech doesn't.
Good preview Dom. Personally, I think it's a great time to play Arsenal. They've won 6 in a row, but are a vulnerable side. Teams with such a perfect run of form tend to take their eye off when they play a team like Watford. They will probably think it will be a straight forward game and that will be to our advantage. If Arsenal do play it out from the back, then it will be suicide football for them. The way Watford press high up the pitch, it will be playing into our hands. I'm actually really forward to this one. However, they did play out from the back against Everton, and looked really shaky. In the second half they stopped doing this and went long and looked far better for it. Hopefully they'll go back to Emery's ideal of playing from the back and we get a lot of early joy and cause a lot of damage during this period of the match. Arsenal of course have a lot of talent up front, so this will be in all likelihood a high scoring match. I think this could be another win. Arsenal 2 Watford 4.
I’m currently sat in my favourite Szechuan cafe opposite said stadium enjoying a light supper , whilst contemplating the poetic vision of Deeney smashing through the back of a bewildered Arsole CB .
MK Billy might have something to say about that, what with Spurs thrashing Watford Reserves 2-2 last night
Really looking forward to this one, we play exactly the kind of football that could really get at Arsenal, whilst we have improved our defending immeasurably. Even if we do lose it's Arsenal away so a relatively free hit. This season is turning out to be quite an exciting one, possibly the most exciting since our promotion. Looking forwards to fixtures now is not the daunting, and at times mundane activity that it used to be, but rather a positive exciting, and enjoyable part of the week. Onwards and upwards
Excited about this one. We may lose but I really fancy our style and players to cause Arsenal a lot of problems. Especially if they are over confident afters flattering run of form.
Indeed 38 years ago-it was a great feeling to be an away fan that day following the win at Spurs a few weeks previously-you felt you belonged in the top tier. Barnes got two that day-i think we did the double over them that season as well-lets hope we can repeat that
You’ve covered most of the bases but any players who, at some point, have played for both teams? Any noteworthy buildings in the vicinity?
Brevity is to be admired! Too late to get a ticket. Mr Club Arse contact has said his apprentice psychopath son wants to attend,so it's behind the sofa time for me come 3pm.
Another thing perhaps overlooked last night was scoring away from home again. Lets hope that continues this Saturday. Even though our defending has improved massively, I'm certain that Arsenal will score (they're still pretty decent going forwards). Therefore, can we get two or three, which I feel we will need to win the game? Heart says 2-3 Watford; stupid, sensible (and negative) head says 3-1 Gooners.
Identical! 183cm. I was the same height then as I am now. Exception which proves the rule? Banks was 185. People shrank in the 70s?
Really hope Kabs is going to be able to play, we’ve lost Janmatt already so probably Kiko or Mapps can fill in. It’s difficult to know which Arse will turn up. At the moment they are playing well and scoring goals, but we have not slumped since Manure, getting a good point at Fulham and almost knocking their rivals out of the cup. It always a tough one away to the big six. We have bagged 13 points already and it’s not even October, a draw would be a great result to go into Next week but I can’t seeing us losing by more than the odd goal, if we lose,,. considering recent games this season I expect us to be competitive and go for it. 0-o and a clean pair since the opening day. I’d take that, and even a win as well.
Dont talk to me about that scum . We ll deal with them once we ve seen off Borehamwood and most of all NFFCSC ( North Finchley Football, Cricket and Social club)
