We are playing Spurs on Sunday at the Vic as they haven't got a stadium for time being. Harr Kane has broken his August hoodoo and now can score goals. We are looking good, so god knows the result.
This may be the freest of free hits, considering our start so far. I remember one of the most embarrassing performances of recent times was playing them (I think on New Years Day) on the TV a couple of seasons ago. To be honest I'd be content with anything but a tonking, but how nice would a win be. We've had results against United, Arsenal, Chelsea in recent years but never seem to manage anything vs Spurs. Hopefully with us playing them Sunday, then again in the League Cup, things will develop into a bit of a rivalry to go along with our other arch rivals Bournemouth and Palace
I was just reading that if south korea beat japan in the asian games final son is rewarded by not needing to do 18 months military service (it has to be done before he turns 28, he's now 26), along with 20 other players. All sporting gold medal winners get this prize in korea. In view of that, COME ON JAPAN!!!!!!
I'll take any result as long as we go for it and try to win rather than playing for a draw or collateral damage.
Apparently you can get 4 to 1 on a Watford win at some bookies. Got to be worth speculating a couple of bob at those odds I'd have thought
Off the woodwork, onto the keepers back, spinning towards the line, with keeper scrambling to claw it away before it crosses the line. Goal given, but wait, it's been referred to VAR.....and it wasn't quite over the line, was it ?....yes it was, it's been given ! But Sth Korea had fielded an illegible player due to an admin ****-up so the game is awarded to Japan.
To make it even better, japan and korea are arch rivals. And japan have just sent over their kids to use the tournament as experience for the olympics, they couldnt give a flying *** about it. Whereas korea have sent over their best possible team and sent 3 overage players. Imagine if they still lost! God I hope japan wins.
God i would love to beat these lot but I do feel our good start may come to an end. A draw would be a decent result
Wonder if he will switch formations and pack the midfield or be brave, stick with 4-4-2 and just go for it ?
Hmm... yes - ish. But we took on Man City at their own game last year (under Snake) and the score ended 0 - 6, which is a bit much. Yes, I know they were actually lucky, but ouch.
I'm going for a hard-fought 1-1 draw but Spurs invariably beat us. Kane will no doubt score just to rub salt into the wound. Who is that Spurs numpty who always gloats when they win? Cue him again sigh.
I've had that same feeling about Burnley away, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal at home....and been delightfully wrong recently. It's only Spurts and Citeh that we have not beaten since our "return" to the top league. There's always a first time - and it's getting increasingly likely that we'll give a few of the top 6 a beating each season.
I would hope he'll go with two up top, at least in the first instance; but he has already shown flexibility and will change systems on the spot during a game. This is good. If the game starts to get out of hand (and Spurs are far and away better than anybody else we've played this season) he will probably have a Plan B. I don't want this to sound negative and I'm expecting an exciting game, but Spurs' attack will probably not miss the sort of chances we gave Palace the other day.
Hopefully with their keeper out it will make the defence a bit more jittery. Could be a big loss to them
Lloris and Sissoko are out injured. Son isn't playing thankfully. So target Dele Alli to get sent off and we could have a better than average chance.
I think we can choose on the morning of the match. They need to just keep glued to our twitter feed and be ready to drive wherever we choose.
With Lloris out we have a chance. Just need to hit the target with Vorm in goal. Son also out is huge. I know they still have Alli, Eriksen and Kane but who cares, come on Watford! Also according to some Spurs fans they seem to think Trippier picked up a slight knock so don’t think he will be risked. Let’s hope he’s not risked for our sake. I just don’t want us to concede early and be chasing the game from early on, that just plays into their hands. I seriously think we could get something from this game. #ibelieveinmiracles
Probably some of the poorest decisions made by the officials. Should of been 1-0 at half time not 3-0. That gives us a fighting chance. Plus we should of had a penalty. Yes I purposely left out all the chances City missed or Gomes saved because I'm biased
Trippier has a knock too, says Fantasy Football... Let's be honest they are a team that can pull our pants down. We need to be perfect to get a draw. Give them half the chances we gave Palace and there's no chance!
I see that their squiffy custodian, the drink-sodden wretch Hugo 'blotto' Lloris won't be turning out. What a surprise. The grog-guzzling Gallic glovesman has apparently cried off with a supposed 'thigh injury'. More likely hungover from yet another heavy sesh on the Calvados. By the way, how tight must you have to be to be earning £100,000 per week yet still be too tight to shell out on a taxi?
