Couldn't find the old betting thread. Anyway, 4th favourites for relegation currently! Gotta love the start of every season. Think it makes Watford so enjoyable to watch the first few months. Watching people suddenly start realising the model is still working and we aren't going down. Admittedly possibly it can't last forever but it is fun being relegation fodder every season Handicap odds not out yet but we should be pretty good for a wager. Think I'll do my usual. Watford on handicap if about +40 or more, Watford over 40 points, and 3 teams for relegation but not chosen who yet.
Odds look about right to me at present. Was hoping HTFC would lose their manager during the summer but doesn't look like it will happen. Surprised Fulham are down there with their buys so far and the fact they have a better manager than us. Doubt they will finish with less points than us.
Surprised to see Burnley with such short odds. Having said that, they, Newcastle and Bournemouth are very reliant on their managers. If they start badly and sack their manager or start well and see their manager poached, I can see any of those 3 struggling.
We are 2/1 and Wolves are 6/1 Again I don't get the love in for them. They are a newly promoted championship team. I don't give rats arse if they are in bed with a particular superagent.
If we don't sort out the attacking options, (currently none), then I can't see us staying up next season. 2/1 is still awful odds though.
Not sure the attacking options are such a worry. We've got pacy wingers on both sides and a strong and creative central midfield to provide better support to the strikeforce, and a better stronger defence. I'm happy to back us all the way to be safe and 2-1 is rediculous.
Deeney, Gray, Okaka, Penaranda, Success and Richarlison could possibly turn his hand to it if asked. If that doesn't shout "TOP 10 AMBITION" I don't know what does.
You might not care about it - but the fact they have Mendes on board means they can sign players like Neves and Patricio who are far beyond their level currently. A few more and they have one of the better squads outside the Top 6. I don’t understand Southampton’s long-ish odds whatsoever. Spent a lot this summer on players I’ve never heard of and on the back of a narrow escape last season. They’d be one of my favourites to go down for sure at this stage.
Richarlison, Pereyra, Success, Deloufeu, Sema, Hughes...hardly no options. Our strikers are average at best but if they are supported by the above attack-minded players, we have more options than most of those around us in the betting odds.
They can buy the best players in the world the fact remains it is their first season in the Prem. Its completely different to the Championship. We don't know how they will play in the Prem. They are a Champ team with a few good players and there are many who come up like that and go down. I hope they don't get a single point
They were an outstanding championship team and have added some quality/big names to their team. They will finish above us. 50p says so.
He's only never been relegated because he gets sacked before the end of the season! He took Stoke down last season, not Lambert.
The Geordies, competely unsurprisingly, are not happy bunnies with what Rafa's been given to play with (literally and financially):
