Happy with this. Can see another keeping coming in though to challenge him for the No. 1 shift. Sergio Rico? With Pontus as third choice.... and Gomes and Bachman leaving.
If he can still play - the money was right, no matter what it was. If he can't, it wasn't - again, no matter what it was.
Nice, probably a season or two left but if it's cheap why not. Homegrown. Foster & Gomes should be capable of making Dahlberg the best he can be, they will be great teachers.
I can't see Bachmann leaving. He's a textbook PL club number 3 goalkeeper. And if Pontus doesn't get loaned out I can't see why he'd have come here to not even get on the bench on match days.
Surely Gilmartin was the classic, central casting number 3. If I were ever to lead an (Ant)arctic expedition, I’d call for Rene. Maybe suggest he ease back on the commentary after the first week.
Remember when we couldn’t afford £250k to relay the pitch for years while ‘Sarries’ (ugh) we’re constantly destroying it?
I don’t think we’ll sign another GK. Dahlberg remarked when he signed that he picked us over others because we offered the best route to top level 1st team football. I’ve seen it bandied around that he is on a fair wage - not a wage or words that alude to him going out on loan.
I could contemplate the potential return of Messrs Smith & Vydra but would require review of an extensive corpus of fan sourced observation before making a definitive recommendation. Could anyone aware of such a databank please PM me?
Would luv another Icelander in the squad. It's that Viking never say die spirit. Also they have cool names like Ragnar or Eric Bloodaxe! Their defenders are intimidating. Sweden similar so England will need to play clever on Saturday. By the way welcome home the other 'Super Benny' Foster.
My WBA-supporting brother had nothing but positive things to say about him all season, in spite of their struggles. I think this will prove to be an excellent bit of business, and will tie in very well with the development of Dahlberg.
How does it happen, one brother supports Watford and the other West Brom? I mean my kid brother supports Arsenal but that is plausible.
Our grandad was from Herefordshire and supported the Baggies, so my bro follows them because of him. A good reason to support a team, and makes for some decent banter. Although I did feel slightly bad when Deeney scored in open play against them after running in behind. I mean, how terrible do you have to be...
That's also three ex loan players that we've got in the side at the same time, Chalobah, Cleverly and Foster. I recon that is probably a premier league record.
Theoretically swapped Nyom for Ben Foster, seems like an excellent deal to me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah true, but I was really thinking of returning ex loan players rather than the more common, signing of present loan players.
He's much older than when he was last here. He has to make all his saves one handed, as the other holds his ear trumpet.
I expect he wants to stay here having bonded so well. The last 6m was just a ploy to get the price down.
"Not many clubs I’d have looked forward to signing for,but @WatfordFC have always had a special place in my life,, can’t wait to get going again" (https://goo.gl/QnFm9w) Good man, Ben. It's nice to have players who genuinely want to put on the shirt on the team sheet.
I'm a relic from the Tony Coton era and still maintain he is the best goalkeeper we've ever had at the club, however the first half of Watford v Wolves in 2005 was for me one of the greatest goalkeeping display I've ever seen. I still don't know to this day how Foster got us in at half time at 0-0.
