Never understood why we let him go in the first place to be honest. Maybe not a first team regular but he was a good squad player and played with the right attitude.
We let him go because all he ever did was A) dribble pointlessly into packs of opposition defenders until losing the ball or B) obviously and blatantly pull the oppositions shirts and push and shove until a foul was given against him. He didn't score and he didn't assist. What I can't understand is why anyone would have wanted him to stay or would want him to come back.
Remember that 10 minutes in that 1 match when amrabat and janmaat linked up together and looked dead good? Some people cant forget it. Not me like, I think he's absolute horse*****.
10/10 for effort though. Got to be better than putting a half arsed effort in then getting yourself sent off sow we're down to 10 men.
I was supposed to go watch the one and only Amrabat as his mighty Leganes took on Barcelona at the Camp Nou over the weekend. The GF got us tickets to celebrate my 30th birthday, game was supposed to be played on Sunday...they changed the date a couple of weeks ago to the Saturday and didn't send us any email etc saying the date had been changed. I was checking the scores through all the leagues on Saturday and somehow didn't clock the Barcelona game in the list, I put Barcelona in my Sunday accumulator and didn't clock the date. The match was being played and we were out at a restaurant having dinner, we didn't realise till we got back to the hotel and I was checking twitter and see "Messi's hat-trick against Leganes puts him level with Mo Salah for the season" - then it clicked. Amrabat got subbed off at HT though so don't think I missed much. FML.
If ever there was a game to summarise Amrabat, today was it. Direct, dangerous, quick and able to draw fouls. And no end product to show for it.
Harsh words for our stadium. Not often you hear it called VR though. Guess he doesn't like the half time pies either.
TBF VAR was rightly used in the Spain game for their late equaliser! Nordin wants the system used for everything - well us fans have to get home at some point.
Yes. We should be able to vote players on and off, pick which way the keeper dives for penalties, and choose which colour shorts the team plays in.
Remember St Albans Horn who pre enacted all WFC matches on Football Manager? It never forecast the right result but I'm sure we were delighted to be just a little itk.
This correspondent thinks we must keep Amrabat but most of the comments below seem to disagree: www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/16314835.watford-opinion-keeping-nordin-amrabat-should-be-a-priority-after-impressive-world-cup-with-morocco/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor I tend to fall into the latter - has done well but really needs to find a bit more pace and end product to become a success with us and stop pulling the shirt of the opposition defender - never gets away with that!
If we're scouting based on the World Cup rather than on performances in a Watford shirt, then getting Carillo, Amrabat and Behrami back should be a number one priority. However, otherwise, maybe we should stick to developing players who have actually been successful for us and improving on the areas where we don't have strength.
He's 31 now, he's certainly not going to be getting any quicker or suddenly find an end product. He needs to be moved on ASAP.
Hopefully his high profile in the World Cup will earn us a few more £££ on a sale rather than shipping him out on loan again.

Funny. Amrabat/Sterling seems to be a similar argument at the moment. Probably best if Batti moves on now. Personally thought he was damned good and very effective for most of his time here, but at 31 he is getting on. Good luck Nordin...
"Very effective" at what exactly? Trying hard? As an attacking player aren't you supposed to actually, you know, create and score goals in order to be considered "very effective" as a player?
Except Sterling is at least proven in terms of his performances and his goals and assists return for his club side, even if he's been poor for England (playing in a position that clearly suits him less). Amrabat, on the other hand, has played 120 games since 2015 across two different leagues and his national side, and scored a grand total of 4 goals. That is appalling and inexcusable for an attacking player no matter how anyone tries to spin it. The man is awful, genuinely no idea why some insist on giving him a free pass.
Trabzonspor have now laughed this off: http://sportwitness.co.uk/hayrettin-hacisalihoglu-says-watford-attacker-not-option/
