    Ex-Watford striker Fernando Forestieri has been hailed a "true earth angel" after the kind-hearted footballer handed ill mum Hayley Kalinins £10,000 in cash.

    The generous act will help the 35-year-old mum-of-four fund revolutionary cancer treatment in Germany.

    Stunned Hayley, from Borrowash, Derbys., was diagnosed with Stage 4 incurable secondary breast cancer in July 2011.

    The vile disease spread to her liver and lungs but she is now in "partial remission" after using social media to raise a whopping £150,000 for her specialist treatment overseas.

    And she was overwhelmed with Sheffield Wednesday's Forestieri's surprise gift.

    Hayley, who is married to Sheffield Wednesday fitness coach Andy Kalinins, said: "Fernando Forestieri has always been very supportive to our treatment.

    "A lot of footballers get a lot of bad press, but he is genuinely lovely and caring. He is a true angel of the earth."

    The sales assistant, who met her partner when they were both working at Derby County, added: "He just turned up and said he wanted to make a donation to the fund. He said he was happy for it to be publicly announced.

    "He gave us the money there and then in cash. We went straight to the bank as we didn't want that kind of money hanging around."

    I too was fond of FF, but for balance. wasn't deemed good enough for PL, sometimes forgotten but he did have has share of dire games when he didn't show up at all, alas when he did show up twas a joy to behold. Our poundland Messi.

    I think FF is defo good enough for Prem but only if he played for Watford as he would just up his game to the required level ... which he would if he was playing for us .
