Okay, I have no desire to start an argument about it.

Regardless of how much you disagree with him and he’s seemingly obstructive to anyone else’s view, I’m just not sure your tone was needed!

Offering to try and kick someone’s head in because he doesn’t agree with you about music on a football forum - doesn’t that strike you as being a bit odd?

What's wrong with being angry? Just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it doesn't work for other people. Whoever decided that anger is a negative emotion has never felt the immense satisfaction of beating the $hit out of someone that richly deserved it. The subsequent calm is incredible.

New Queen biopic trailer is out today. There's a bit where Freddie tells Brian May they are recording an operatic chorus for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Mollyboo can you confirm if this is cool, not cool or inept as he didn't ask for a string section instead?

Ah, The Ruts! Saw them (well, Ruts DC) a couple of months ago in Luton (sorry, but it had to be done) and they were amazing! Right into my top ten gigs ever, and I've been going to gigs regularly for 40 years. A 90 minute set of new & old stuff topped off with Babylon's Burning followed by my personal favourite In A Rut with an encore of Staring At The Rude Boys - you can't get much better than that! I left happy, but deaf, hoarse and bruised after leaping around with all the other middle-aged 'punks'. :D

Queen's music is largely imaginative, varied and the level of technical ability is very high. I own nearly all their albums. I don't think 'cool' comes into it.

Simon Le Bon went to the same school as Elton. Interestingly. while I was checking this on wikipedia, I discovered that Stephen Duffy was in an early incarnation. After a dodgy start (as Stephen Tin Tin Duffy) he went on to form The Lilac Time who produced some great stuff.

Went to see Bjork at All Points East festival in a Victoria Park on Sunday. She may be bat **** crazy but she is still pretty amazing live.

She was indeed! It took some getting used to if like me you are a casual fan, but it was incredibly creative and visually stunning. Although a three-day event, you could buy day tickets and I chose Bjork because apart from her, Beck and a couple of others I'd not heard of most of the bill. One of life's pleasures that I don't indulge in much these days (due to the increased grumpiness about crowds that comes with age!) is wandering around a festival's different stages to hear sounds and artists new to me. I was impressed with most of what I heard, particularly Kelly Lee Owens, Parcels and Khruangbin, all watched whilst sitting down on the grass with a cold beer in the surprisingly dry weather!

Returned to All Points East festival again this weekend to see Future Islands, The War on Drugs and The National. All three were incredible but a word on The National who I had always struggled to get into - amazing live and have made them an infinitely better listen now for me!

Did anyone else have the misfortune of going to any of the gigs at Finsbury Park over the weekend?

I went on Saturday for Run The Jewels/Iggy Pop/QOTSA and despite the musicians best efforts (all performed well), it was one of the worst organised events I’ve ever been to, music or not. I have worked in music for over 15years and have never seen anything like it. The capacity was 45k which is already too much for the venue to handle and it was so overcrowded it was dangerous. Rumours going around that 65k tickets were scanned and allowed in.

2hr queues for the bar, 2hr+ queues for the water taps (they emptied all water bottles on entry even in 30 degree heat), only 3 bars and 2 toilets, with men’s urinals placed in the middle of the girls cubicles. Topped off with only 1 small exit which caused serious concern of accidents at the end of the night. Everyone I have spoken to has said they missed at least half of the event just through queuing to stay hydrated or grabbing a beer.

How no one was seriously injured or died I don’t know.

Sounds terrible and it can be a nice place for a gig - I remember seeing the Pistols there in 96 introduced by Stuart Pearce, great night.

The Hyde Park events appear well organised, but god are they soulless. Anything that big isn't likely to be the place to see favourite bands.
