Is the current England manager on there ?

He and Mr Joshua should be first on the list alongside Ginger Spice or Geri Horner as she is now know .

Wow, my friend Nat Wei is on the list!?! I actually didn’t know he was from Watford (he grew up in Milton Keynes so I assumed he was born there). I’m surprised he didn’t mention that as he knows I support Watford.

I have to say thought that list is not full of super stars -the fact one of my friends is near the top of the list says it all!

Cyril Fletcher and his curiously shaped vegetables.

Possibly an inspiration for @I Blame Bassett ?

Extraordinary & indeed life affirming to see Bruce Gilbert of Wire featured so prominently.

A few years back I visited the coolest record store in Philadelphia & Pink Flag was displayed in a place of honour.

Touching when otherness is recognised so far afield.

Btw, I assumed that Bruce Grocott & Baron Grocott were twins at first glance.

I didn’t realise that socialists actually accepted imperialist gewgaws.

    Nicholas Breakspear. Pope Adrian IV.

It's quite historic the Langley's. The Grand Old Duke of York, from the poem, was born and died in Kings Langley.

World boxing champion AJ went to Kings Langley school, and the mighty Stuart Slater is now a teacher there.

my girlfriend's dad alternates between calling me Elton, Geri and George Michael (don't know why he deserves surname recognition). I've put Watford on the map in Covilhã!

"The people below are listed by their popularity, so the most recognizable names are at the top of the list"

Junior Osbourne way above Kenny Jackett.. also above him are Skilly Williams, Frank Yallop and the other Ross Jenkins. Surely not?

PS I had a quick glance at the list from L*T*N (forgive me father for i have sinned) and it seems Charles Bronson comes from there. No not the infamous inmate but the Dirty Dozen/Great Escape/Dirty Harry one

THAT Charles Bronson was actually born in Pennsylvania. But the criminal one was born in Luton, unsurprisingly.

Yes i believe they are getting their Charles Bronson's mixed up.

Btw The Grand Old Duke of York.. there's some debate apparently over which Duke of York the nursery rhyme is actually about and the one that was born in Kings Langley, who is one of the possibles, actually died in Yorkshire.. at the battle of Wakefield.

Roger Deakin was a neighbour of ours in Headstone Lane when I was a kid, eons ago. He might have been born in the hospital like many on the list but they weren't from Watford.
Another bloke living up the road then was Bruce Welch who played in The Shadows. He's not from Watford and neither does he support Woffud.

I thought he marched them up Hollywell Hill, then back down again. Must have been some sort of physical exercise routine.

I lived in KL and was told the hill he marched them up and down was the one in Kings Langley (not Toms Lane, the other side). I was told that by an estate agent in KL, and its well known fact that estate agents are incapable of lying.

He was born in East Finchley and then moved to Kingsbury - close, but strictly speaking still more London than Watford.

There was a Watford Maternity Hospital on the corner of Vicarage Road and Exchange Road, which was in use, I believe, until the mid '70s, when it and the Peace Memorial all merged into Watfrod General on the Shrodells site.

His family moved to Radlett when he was in his late teens,I think.
