West Brom Southampton Stoke These 3. Palace with Zaha will stay up. I honestly thought Huddersfield and Newcastle but they are still there. Imagine if we had point a point against West ham. They would be 1 point clear of the drop. Surely they will survive?
All that West Ham protest seemed to do was effect the hone team who gave up 2 more goals just when they needed some support to help them get back into the game.
The long haired protester got a bit of a kicking when he got back into the stands (footage in Independent). The board seems to have done a deal with the 'Real West Ham Fans', a group led by Andy Swallow, founder of the ICF, and a very nasty piece of work, to suppress a planned protest by the Independent Supporters group (private meetings with Karren Brady, 40 free tickets). The chair of the Independent Supporters has been targeted for his support of Labour and Sadiq Khan, so much so that he is not attending matches for fear for his safety. Horrid club, horrid owners, and a sizeable minority of really horrid fans.
Stoke have had a turnaround under Lambert. They'll lose today and may go down as they've run out of winnable matches but their on the same number of points as palace so can't write them off yet. Palace have played 3 of top 5 in last 3 matches and aren't cut off. With zaha back and a clear fight they'll probably be ok, though they have huddersfield away next weekend. West ham seems toxic, Will be hard to win at home but think they'll stay up as 3 clubs incl west brom and Southampton will be equally incompetent
Sounds a mess http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-hooligans-icf-action-group-a8244951.html?amp https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/mar/09/west-ham-fan-groups-protest-march-rift
Just seen the highlights on MOTD - they were well on top and could have been 3 up themselves. Then Burnley scored and West Ham lost it on and off the one pitch.
Although the move to the London Stadium was not what the supporters wanted, unfortunately for them they have to make the best of it. If West Ham do actually get relegated it will have been their Fans that send them down not the players, a home ground and atmosphere should be comfortable for the players, the fans have made it toxic, the players are scared of making mistakes which leads to results like yesterday's.
What a mess. Would love them to go down just to see the greedy board members scarper like the rats they are. The Real WHU group sound like absolute scum.
I mean, this is definitely not true, but I'm sure it may end up having made a small negative contribution.
I can't see Stoke scoring enough to extricate themselves and The Baggies have gone now. It would be joyous to see Palace join them but I agree with cthulhu that they won't,probably just to spite me! A points deduction for WHU would make things very entertaining!
After a quick fire manger boost no doubt but how often has it work? Noticed Saints and Stoke both have Swansea and West Ham away for example so still in their hands a bit.
I’m not at all surprised Southampton sacked their coach. Dreadful football all season. Yes they knocked us out of the FA cup but we still got 4 points out of them this season which is pretty good. If Slither does snake his way in it would be interesting if he can save them. Shame we won’t play them again this season if he did go. Be quite the toxic atmosphere indeed. Hard hats available at the turnstiles.
If they didn't happen to be playing us away I'd say they're the most likely candidate to join Stoke and WBA, despite their valiant efforts. However given they very rarely leave the Vic empty-handed these days, whatever result they get against us could be the one that keeps them up.
Really don't want to see Sliva go there and keep them up, but then again two relegations in two years would be hilarious. I'd imagine he has his eye on someone a bit bigger though
If slither goes to the Saints, it might be a short term contract till the end of the season with an option to sign a longer contract at the end of the season, which might actually suit both parties.
So I *did* hear his name mentioned on R4 this morning in relation to Soton. Thank fark for that - I thought it was the voices (again).
Telegraph reporting that Southampton have already contacted Mark Hughes. Another one of the "how do these people keep getting jobs in the Premier League?" brigade.
First league game for the new Saints boss will be away to West Ham, and the fans there - or, one faction of them - are reported to be planning a 'static' demonstration for that match (whatever that means...) - could be interesting.
Excellent choice, you could’ve gone for: charged atmosphere Electric atmosphere Shocking event Or discharge
Hughes M now odds on, with the serpentine one 3-1. After that it's Howe, Tuchel & Strachan (Gordon not my GP). It is bizarre how clubs appoint people who got their peer group clubs into the mire & hence were sacked. That isn't being risk averse. It is French kissing risk.
Well it's clearly not going to be Saint Eddie, is it? He would be an absolute pillock to move now. End of season - if they stay up - maybe; but even then I doubt it. Suspect he is holding out for something bigger.
Where is Eddie going to go from Muff though ? Really to a top 6 club ? Everton ? Then its all much of a muchness. Soton may have as much potential as any of the rest and means he can stay on his beloved sth coast....but as you say he would be mad to move right now....
But he surely won't join them now because there is a more than decent chance they will be relegated. I've heard him mentioned in respect of top 6 clubs (Arse, for one), although I agree that that seems a stretch. And there's England...
