Not sure we'll have that problem against Liverpool!

    Brilliant!

    Giampaulo Pozzo as Godfrey?

    Dux as The Vicar?

    Richie Boy as Pike, surely.

All these Dad's Army references are inadvertently revealing the ages of several posters.

    I'm not surprised at all.

Yeah - well I wanted it noted I have not joined in any of these Dad's Army references - must have been before my time and I am down there with the dudes.

Good idea - but the Watford he knew isn't the Watford we've got now.

It was poor quality but I thought it was quite exciting - the key question being which defence was going to **** up next.

Have accepted that Pereyra will be one of those players that never lives up to his potential for us. He'll have moments of class that make you think "what if he could do that every week..." but they'll be spread out amongst long periods of anonymity. He's turned out to be a useful squad player rather than the superstar we'd all hoped for. He just seems incapable of imposing himself on a game - I prefer Hughes as he comes in and immediately wants to make things happen, Pereyra seems to wait for an opportunity to present itself to him.

Just be a squad player as a target man.

He hadn't scored in 2017 before scoring against us back at their place so not a prolific scorer !

The imperious U Boat commander would be Captain Prodl or, in a collector’s cameo, young Alexander Merkel.

And finally let’s not overlook Private Andre Sponge.

I always assumed Sir Les Patterson was a cricketer. A steady, fast medium bowler, and handy number 8.

Fred Trueman appeared in Dad’s Army, of course, pulling up injured after a delivery or two in the manner of Kiko against Palace.

I think playing Deeney as a lone striker is sort of like trying to play Vardy as a target man - he's ALWAYS looked so much better when playing alongside someone, be that Vydra, Iggy or now Okaka.

In any case did you know that he's scored on his 50th, 100th, 150th, 200th, 250th and now 300th appearance! Good stat that

Nothing's wrong with it, I'm only saying that Foster knows little more about Watford (the football club) than do Forster or Heaton.

But I still think signing him would be good.

No he wouldn't, he'd be a tea boy at best. What next? Patrick Bamford?

If I was offered 6 WBA players on free transfers, his name wouldn't even be close to making the cut and at a push I could only think of 4 who would, none of them would be an improvement on what we've already got.

Bloody Rondon wouldn't even be a step up from Oulare. I wouldn't even bother with Evans, I'd rather have Shawcross.

Agreed. Rondon works hard but is not a solution to striker problems. They'll be lucky to shift him in the summer. Though if you think he can't score, I read earlier that Berahino hasn't scored in over two years!

I wouldn't want Rondon either, but he's still scored twice as many goals from open play as Deeney this season ;)

I expect Pereyra would be best in a free-flowing attacking minded team where he can roam as he pleases. Hence his best patch this season was in that last 15 minutes against Chelsea. We simply don't play to suit his style of play at present. Hopefully we can adapt to play well next season and he can fit in to that and adjust accordingly. He's far better than his current output and he needs a manager to really support him to muck in with everyone else. As it is, he's a class player, playing on the fringes and dancing away from the fight.

    No cricketing knights called Les.

Les Ames is heralded by some as the greatest wicket keeper/batsman of all time but, nevertheless, no monarch ever elected to put their wotsit on his shoulder.

No wonder the education system is in the state it is if Dad's Army is in the cirriculum.

Nearly as pointless a subject as RE.

Rondon has scored 4 goals in 2000 minutes of Football this season.....

    I'd rather have Ighalo back.
