If you told me your real name was Tom Young I would now understand more about you.

What about Miss Fink the English teacher.

Anyone have any recollections of her?

Nope sorry, never heard of him. I was there 73 to 78.

You must have been a year or so ahead of me, no?

'Competed'? Not really. But I am talking about the sixties here, which, unless I am misremembering a former post, you won't remember at all.

11 years actually - sorry. No- just he too rejected MT - but his father was a card carrying member of the CPGB and he too had very clear strong left wing views. A great guy and a good chess player.

In the sixties we only played rugby, hockey and cricket too. Football was confined to playground kickabouts.

She was my English teacher in the first year. She was dusky, thin and had a slightly haunted look. I have a feeling she may have left circa 1979. After that Mr Green was my English teacher. He had full-on ****ensian sideburns, or am I just making that part up?

I'm pretty sure B was Bushey and T was Turner. Apparently they've added another form.

Neil Hart was bizarrely overlooked for the headmaster job, he was acting head for my upper sixth year after the Mel Smith lookalike left after two years post Trog.

My oldest son is in the first year there now, there are still 4 teachers from my time there, Mr Thorold, Mr Panter, Mr Hussey and Mr Evans (who was my form master in the sixth form).

There are 7 now, there were 6 in my days. Bushey, Cassiobury, Fuller, Groves, New, Platt & Turner. My son is in Groves which was added after my time, an eighth house will be introduced in September this year.

I was in B, Bushey, when I started and then was a founder member of P, Platt when they formed that in around the 3rd year.

Since the new P form appeared to contain almost all of the school's villains and ne-er do wells, we used to say that the P really stood for "Punishment".

Topsfield taught me German - he casually let slip that he had interrogated German POWs during the war.

Haven't you noticed how undisciplined we are becoming? The West Ham thread has turned into a films thread :)

We did play association football as well. But and this is long before my time, very long indeed when you had an honours board in the assembly hall with the captains names for each year emblazoned in faux gold leaf on wooden panels.

I love a decent thread hijacking, but this WBGS jizz fest is a bit too much

I recall in the late 70's (maybe early 80's) I used to sneak into the outdoor pool late at night with a student nurse from Shrodells, and go skinny dipping

If you pompous boys school chinless wonder had known there had been a naked girl in your pool, you and your equally virginious (good word huh?) teachers, would have probably passed out with excitement

All the best from a proper school, St.Micks in Garston X
