LOL on us getting deals done nice and early. I wonder who the panic buy(s) will be this January then?
Why ? Because you are confident we are more attractive than, and will outbid, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham and Southampton if and when we make a bid?
OH! :-( just read her wiki page and she is married to Patrick Kielty. Never could stand the unfunny little twerp and now another reason
Amrabat to be recalled from loan on 31st January at 11:59 pm. But we will miss the deadline because Amrabat will get off at Luton and will never be seen again
In addition, Dja Djedje's loan docs will miss the deadline by 18 seconds and he will be unable to play for anyone for the 2nd half of the season. He will announce his retirement and become an electrician.
Shall we just give up with this. We will get two players we have never heard of from the Pozzo stable presumably and they wont play. An underwhelming loan from a top 4 club (City or Chelsea) they might play a little - we will all think meh!
To be fair, we are getting more efficient...only 4 pages of this before people start to get bored. We got to about 20+ before we all turned on Kieron Gibbs.
Everton are in for Walcott now so may be out of the running. Source linking him with Inter: http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...ion-for-atletico-madrid-winger-gaitan-4215420
I don't think we'll even get that. What's the point if they're not needed, the injured players coming back will be better than anything we can bring in.

I have every faith in Duxbury's Dec statement that we were well advanced to land our targets in early Jan. The first we will hear about Sanchez joining will be after he's actually left Arsenal and joined us. On a serious point, if I was the Pozzos I would sell now. The cost to retain our status will only rise and rise, to match the obsence revenues the prem brings, its a market economy of course. The value of the club will struggle to rise above what it is today and will fall through the floor the year we are relegated. What's the point in trying to compete with richer owners just to stand still when you could sell to some filthy rich egotistical wannabe, who will pay whatever you ask just to be one of the only 20 english premiership club owners in the world ?
Swansea have apparently held discussions: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-city-hold-talks-over-14158856 They’re also supposedly in talks over another Atlético player, Kevin Gameiro, who I think would be a great option for us upfront. Little chance of us paying the quoted £25m for a 30-year-old, but if we’re willing to pay similar for Slimani, I know who I’d rather sign.
Lots of activity in the clubs below us to strengthen including some quality players. Our owners obviously feel we have the right manager and players already at the club, so no need to spend. Looks a very dangerous strategy to me.
It’s a view that’s changed only recently, as both SD and MS are on record as saying they expected early incoming transfers in this window.
The club probably hoped to get all our deals done early. But personally I think since Duxbury's interview either the club or Silva have decided that we'll be parting ways at the end of season whatever happens so the targets they had lined up have been scrapped. We'll end up with a loan or two and that'll be it, then another rebuilding in the summer. Oh joy.
I’m not saying this isn’t a possibility, but Duxbury’s interview was made in November, well after the dust had settled on the Everton fiasco. So what’s changed since then if it’s nothing to do with that? It makes no sense to scrap all incoming transfers as our defence needs a major upgrade regardless of who the coach is. It’s all rather baffling that the club is acting in a business as normal way when it’s pretty obvious we are in a bit of trouble. We’re probably more vulnerable now than ever before since being promoted.
Who knows? Maybe Silva went to Scott and Gino in December and asked to leave at the end of the season. I'm sure the club know fully well that there are areas we need to improve, despite what Giraldi says, but before Silva would have had some input but now they're probably looking for players for life after Silva. Finally, Duxbury can say we want our business done early as much as he likes but we're still Watford. Unfortunately we are in a position where we may have to wait until the back end of the window when bigger clubs have signed there targets and are willing to let players leave.
