It's just a matter of time before he does go, but I can't see anyone paying the sort of money we'd want for him this Summer. Perhaps another good start to next season and we could see him leave Winter 18/19 or Summer 19 for the £££ the Pozzo's would want.

Wonder what the Pozzo's would accept for him? £35 mill?

Surely if Malcom is worth £40m + for an unproven Premier League player then a proven goal scorer with assists will be £50+?

I was hoping that his recent poor form would have put the big clubs off, but it seems that Arsenal's crack recruitment team are more sensible than that.

    Did I really write that?

Controversial this, but I would sell if the money's right.

Remember Ighalo and the 35 mill offer when he was at his peak? We didn't take it and then accepted 20 or whatever a few months later.

Rich is good, very good, but he hasn't been for the past dozen or so games. Has he been found out a bit or is it just confidence? How badly does he want to move on? Is he happy and content or itching for the bright lights of the big 6?

If Chelsea/Arsenal/Milan/whoever are prepared to get in a bidding war and pay something stupid like 40 or 45 million for him, I'd take it and invest 20 or so in an experienced and proven replacement and spend the remainder on sorting out our horrendous full back situation.

I hope the presence of Uncle Heurelho will keep Richie here for a while yet.

Unless he throws his toys out of the pram then I see no point in selling him at this time. He’s still young, adjusting to the Prem and his value will go up.

His recent dip in form is hardly unique at the moment and by that measure we should cash in on as many of the players as we can. He’s also pretty much played every minute of every game as we can not afford to rest him at the moment.

He has a lot to learn yet and hopefully, with players coming back, we’ll get out of this slump and he’ll get back to his best.

Agree with Clive. If there's 50m on offer, theoretically, we could buy a relatively decent winger for 20m and still have 30m to strengthen elsewhere.

Of course Rich could become a world beater, but his value will always be mitigated by the fact that he play a for Watford, so if anyone is desperate enough to pay in Jan, it's probably near to his peak value for us. Whatever Chelsea or Arsenal could get in the future from Real Madrid or PSG is a different matter

Southampton were still able to command £75m for Van-Dijk and he's barely kicked a ball all season. If Richarlison continues to improve and can regain more of what he showed in the first 6 weeks of the season, rather than the last 6 weeks, then I'd say we can garner more than £50m for him down the line.

Yeah, but he's also 20, having just played his first senior half a season in a major league ever, playing 1000 more minutes than the nearest competitor on our team and with no break throughout a full year. Ighalo was a 27 year old who performed out of his skin for a year, and was then given a a year to show an inkling of replicating it, and couldn't even begin an attempt to come close (absolute legend and classic guy as he was/is).

I don't really see anything comparable in their situations at all, nor a reason to think that Richarlison will not improve from this point on.

We don’t know the differences between what assurances VVD was given about a big club enquiry to persuade him to sign for Southampton in the first place, and what Richarlison was assured to persuade him to sign for us.

He's vital to us just now - whatever we sell him for will be less than he's worth to us at the moment.

If he does go, I hope we include a significant sell-on clause into the deal .............

If he gets a full 1st team cap for Brasil and does well his price ewill go through the roof, that said I doubt I'll personally see any of the money, so would really rather we didn't sell him.

I think it would be a mistake to go and sit on the bench of a big team at this point in his career

Mind you get he is a due a serious injury within the next couple of weeks that would talk him out for the rest of the season

I don't think he's as good as the media think. He has glimpses of skill but he's not great at taking players on, has a heavy touch, makes the wrong decision quite a lot and has erratic finishing.

He's got a good attitude and there's definitely something about him as he gets in great positions to score and never hides but I think his reputation has been inflated by his good start to the season.

I like him and his attitude but just don't think he's quite as good as he's been made out to be.

Couldn't agree more unless we have to sell him to survive then don't, in fact it is more a point of not selling him to survive (in the prem)

He gets a lot more attention from opposition players than he did at the beginning of season. Also the entire team is a bit **** now so not surprising his form has suffered a bit as well.

If he finishes well - say another 10 goals, then we are looking at £70m + in the summer, IMO.

If we get relegated we will get a lot less for Rich and Doucoure.

Relegation will cost millions, not just in reduced tv money, but in reduced fees. Let’s stay up first and then worry whether he stays or not.

He would tear the championship apart though

Richy is double marked without fail every single game now and hasn't been anywhere near as effective. Part of the reason for our recent struggle IMO. Not his fault, as we should have more than one attacking threat...

Double marked, a shaky wing back behind him & not a huge number of options in the middle.

I'm hugely impressed by his attitude (keeps going despite the recent travails, v few bookings despite being hugely fouled) & I suspect (& really hope) he is being well advised to take a long term approach.

He just needs to relax in the box.
