I hate the hands-behind-the-ears thing, whether it's to the player's own fans or to the opponents'. It's rude and unnecessary.

Can’t wait for the reaction on here when Gray scores against Burnley, just turns around and walks calmy back to the centre circle without so much as a smile.

How disrespectful to his current club and fans that’ll be!

If you think RC is going to do that, you’re living in a land of make-believe.

My expectation is that it was in response to him getting stick. I can't prove that was the case just as (I suspect) you can't prove that no-one in the ground was giving him stick. It would seem very odd behaviour if it was genuinely unprovoked - hence my theory.

A good summary of the situation; and yes, the half-time 'entertainment' made me cringe. Also, it was deafeningly loud, as it nowadays always is. Am I alone in wishing their PA system was turned down low enough so I can have a conversation. I don't want quiet, but I was literally having to shout in someone's ear in order to be heard and even then it wasn't really working. That's ridiculous.

I didnt hear him any stick though, that's what makes it all so bemusing. There's really no reason for us to have any bad feelings towards him, and I dont know anyone who does.

Perhaps he was preempting future abuse.

Nah, he'll probably do a full length of the pitch cupping his ear to the home fans.

If the foul was the shirt tug then I suspect it should have been at least 10 yards further back.

Spot on. I filled in the survey that came through the other week, and in the 'other comments' section added that the PA is far too loud at most games.

And don't even get me started on that sh1t on the pitch at half time.

I thought it was just me. Before the game and at half time it's deafening. I have to wait for play to start to have a conversation.

Or it could have been 12-15 if every shot had been on target and gone in. The bloke is not right in the head.

Yep; too loud. Usually **** music with too much midrange for my ears. If I had a hearing aid I’d turn it off.

I Can just about shout over the music but it seems that every time I speak, the announcer, Emma, starts speaking and completely deafens me. Bless her!

And the white noise cheering sound is unbearable
Just turn it down a bit

Mourinho likes to air-brush and see what he wants to see in games. We had a good foothold in the game at 15 minutes then two cracking goals from Young. Last time he did that was 11 years ago for us! We were rocking after that and our defending was very poor for the remaining goals. Lukaku bullied our defenders but he was shocking in front of goal. Not entirely convinced by guys like Pogba. Citee on a higher level by far. Mourinho saying should have been smoking cigars glosses over the fact we gave them an albeit brief scare in the second half. They will not win the title if that is their attitude. Enjoyed our reaction second half and see no reason why we can't be best of the rest. Next two games will tell us alot about the rest of the season.

Just copy and paste for the spurs game.
We might get anywhere between 0-2 goals but spurs will get at least 3.
Expect their most dislikeable players like Debbie Alli to score.

Same comments of "our defence not being good enough" " undone by moments of world class brilliance" yadda yadda

Yep, don't mind the celebrating or even the cupping if getting loads of abuse but a bit unnecessary from someone who has come right through our youth system

He had the choice to celebrate with his team-mates or take the p.ss out of us. He chose the latter. Tw.t.

It can't be because he doesn't think we will both be in the same division next year, as I'm sure Man U will manage to stay up!

"Only concern with big Seb is that he's bound to be a bit rusty and he can be a bit clumsy at the best of times."

I don't buy that. As I remember it there were two distinct shirt pulls by Doucoure, the second of which was immediately before the tackle. You can't penalise Pogba by saying, "Well done for carrying on despite being fouled repetitively. Your reward is a free kick back at the place you were first fouled."

We defend like a relegation team, we finish like a mid-table team and have the midfield of the top 4 team. This result should have been entirely predictable.

Played well. Undone by some moments of true class. Hope Will's hamstring injury isn't too serious. Young should get dog's abuse from here on in every time we encounter him.

It's the same with many bus and train announcements these days, it's painful. Ironically it's certainly a pre-preemptive measure in case they think people are (or are turning) deaf!

It was especially cringe-worthy the way the announcer (or was it Rak-Su?) tried to generate a collective rap by getting the crowd to join in with "Come on, Watford" - most thankfully it didn't take off, with I imagine most of the crowd being as embarrassed and bemused as I was!

Did it genuinely upset or offend you though? It’s a game of football, a bit of pantomime villain at Christmas time isn’t really enough to get in a tizz about is it?

Credit to him getting a second wind and reinventing himself to continue playing at the top level at his age.

Game turned at several points last night. Firstly when Matic went off, allowed us to gain much more of a foothold in the midfield area, then followed by the switch to a flat back four, with direct running from Carrillo and Pererya's ability to keep the ball, and a massive lift, rightly or wrongly, when Troy came on.

What a goal by Doucs, haven't seen it back yet but still, what a strike.

Is that your take on the rules or the actual rules. I thought a free kick is taken from where the foul is committed. We've all see countless pens not given for fouls commited outside the area where the momentum carries you into the box. "Well done for being fouled ten yards outside the box but your momentum carried you inside," PENALTY. Sorry, don't buy that.

I'm not talking about momentum though. I'm talking about Doucoure pulling Pogba's shirt as he moved in to (successfully) tackle him. It wasn't one continuous foul - there were a few attempts in quick succession over the space of probably 20 yards. The freekick was given where the final one succeeded in stopping him.

Yeah, but if one tug is a foul then they're all fouls and the free kick should be 20 yards further back. I haven't seen the incident back so I cannot categorically say what happened. If it's a series of little tugs resulting in no foul, followed by a big tug, at the same time as the tackle, then you'd be right.
