Id take a draw or failing that below 4 to them and us getting a consolation. They'll win the league in second gear. We can then go back to our East End terraces and have a sing song around the old Joanna before returning to work selling fruit from barrows
A couple of bits from a City forum: Chris in London Joined: 21 Sep 2009 ↑ From their forum I see they are pretty fired up now that they'll meet the team that represents everything that's wrong with football. And obviously Pep's boys will have a hard time against a far superior team. As one poster put it: "On paper we have the better team all across the pitch in nearly every position. The only ones that might get a place in our starting 11 is KDB and Silva." Right Click to expand... I dunno. Wouldn't we start Troy Deeney ahead of Kun Aguero if only we'd signed him? Chris in London, Today at 10:20 AM Much as I love Troy if they want to swap for Aguero I'm in all day long. argyle Joined: 6 Jan 2009 Is the Watford forum a pisstake? Not sure why there is hatred for us from them. I quite like them and hope they do well. Think it will be a tough game for us so soon after last night. Last edited: 39 minutes ago argyle, 47 minutes ago Considering half the thread has related to sock fitment and C&A I would suggest most people could work that out for themselves. I know it is often said but most other forums don't seem to work like ours and it confuses the oppo fans, barely a suggested line up in sight. Great isn't it.
I'd play the youth for this one. It's going to be hard to motivate the starting 11 for such an easy game, and I reckon the kids would just give us enough effort to get across the line. 3-0 to the Golden Boys - 2 for Mason and a Fellaini own goal.
My biggest concern for this game is, will our star players be up for it? So far, Silva has got the team looking unbeatable, yet against Bristol City, complacency set in and we got beat. I can see our lads letting their guard down for this one and us dropping 2 or even all 3 points. I hope Silva doesn't rest players and we play a full strength side. If we do that and go at them from the off, we'll be out of sight by half time and then can use the second half to give a run out to players like Watson and Success.
Ok. Here's the suggested line up. Pants R. Sock J. Strap B. Hammock. L. Sock T. Hong Y. Frontz B. Riefs Nic Herz G. String Tye Tewhiteys
I hope John Barnes starts, he was looking mighty fit during the week, so glad we got him back #legend
Gomey Darryly Proddy Kassy Holly Chalobahy Dukey Cleverleyey Carriloey Andy **** There you go Blue Mooners, is that what you think a match day thread should look like?
I haven't as yet had the opportunity to peruse the Citeh forum myself but will hazard in advance that there will be bugger all on there concerning hosiery options or down-at-heel clothing stores. As in absolutely nothing whatsoever. Are they entirely incapable of offering even a simplistic view pertaining to the great issues of our time? Pathetic.
My mother-in-law's surname is Ag*ero, although she's not related (as far as I know) to City's 'Kun' Ag*ero. Interestingly though, when she came to visit England, she didn't like it here either and wanted to leave and go back home as soon as possible. So they're the same in that regard.
They have started well but how long can they keep it up? They are getting points on the board early doors but will it be enough in the relegation battle.
Watford's preparations going well to stop City's forwards from scoring on Saturday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All I want to see is a decent performance. Get that right and we can surely give them a run for their money. I've talked to people about this game, and some of them have said "well, I guess it's Man City, so you won't be too disappointed if you lose", which I don't buy. We have to compete against everyone in this league. That's what I'm looking for on Saturday - a competitive performance.
Although it’s nice to get games like this in early in the season (even more so given our form), I’m surprised that I’ve seen a few people suggesting this game is a ‘free hit’. If we got beaten by 5 goals say, the damage that could do to morale, especially amongst the defenders, would be bad. And I’m sure Silva would be furious. As good as City can be, this game will rest upon whether Doucoure/Chalobah can stop Silva/De Bruyne. We stand as good a chance as we ever have but our back four need to be the best they’ve maybe ever been given the way City have been attacking this season. Won’t go overboard if we lose. Will be very very very happy if we win. A draw would be a fantastic result also. But I just hope we give ourselves the best opportunity to get a result and Holebas doesn’t chop down Sané after 3 minutes or something stupid.
There's a world of difference between a medium-sized club being bought and commercialised by a family who made money in business and are clearly football fans, and a potentially massive club being bought (effectively) by a government with an iffy human rights record and dubious long-term survival prospects as part of a political strategy designed to protect its position through global soft power by buying up commercial and sporting winners. Not often I agree with Clive, but when he's got a point ....
The guy who sits next to me can't make it so I've got his ST's for this game. I asked my son of he wanted to bring along his Man City supporting friend and I got told in no uncertain terms that if he supports Man City he can go sit in the away end. Good lad, his Mum raised him well! He's bringing his Liverpool supporting mate instead .
And you just allow him to just freely associate with Man City and Liverpool fans, do you? Well, each to his own I suppose. I've read about this modern, liberal parenting, but frankly it is not something we'd tolerate at our house.
White socks I see! Gomes has funny knees too.Too much time on the underground perhaps or has he been skateboarding down the hight street?
Im glad that their fans are joining in the micky taking. Normally by now we've had fans from opposing sides, sign up, join the forum and go a rant about how deluded we are that we actually think we can beat their team. Fair play to them for joining in and realizing that we are going to SMASH them on Saturday. I hate to be the one breaking news but maybe, just maybe, not all northerners are as slow as we think, maybe they are evolving. Except Liverpudlians, they will always be slow.
All his Watford supporting mates have season tickets so they're already going. I won't let him associate with kids who "say" they follow the hornets but don't go. Looking forward I'm not sure how I'll handle the situation if he brings a girl home who doesn't like footy.
Very surprised to read on their forum they spent £50M on some stones Are they mad? You can get a bag of gravel for a fiver
As far as I am concerned these City glory hunters can jog on back to League 1 obscurity once they get Ffffffffffp embargo and can only play English players and under 18s for 5 seasons.
That's what the market is like when they know it's Man City trying to buy them, £50m for a walker as well, must really love their dog.
