Love this guy. Should be one of the very first names on the team sheet, brings such positivity to the team and seems to have an excellent temperament too. Covers so much ground, you'll see him racing forwards to support an attack one minute, then covering for the defence the next. Aware of his own limitations too, very rarely chooses the wrong pass or runs down a blind alley.
Saw him when on loan last season and I couldn't believe we weren't playing him this year. Proper box to box player, possibly not as classy as hoped but on the whole we look better with him in the team, plus he's still quite young
Are we all falling in love with French midfielders lately in the Prem ? Anyways good showing against West Brom, more of that please !
A great partnership with Clevlerley - bodes well for the future. Younger fresher legs to get up and down with some skill and pace.
Good interview here with Kevin Affleck and Abdoulaye Doucouré. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/colney-chat-abdoulaye-doucoure
http://www.marca.com/futbol/malaga/2017/06/15/5942484a468aeb39648b4609.html In today's Marca which is the number 1 sports paper in Spain. It says that Malaga want Decoure on loan with an obligation to buy *t the end of the season.
Well one would like to hope he is considered one of our long term stars of the future. Be a bit of a joke if we just let him go..
Lots of differing opinions on here, but I think everyone would agree that Doucouré looks like a decent player and therefore it would be a huge shame if we let him go. Hopefully that story is a load of nonsense and he'll very much be part of Silva's plans.
At his age and with his ability his value will soar this year, I think that we won't sell him this summer but if he has an outstanding season then it would be difficult to keep him in subsequent transfer windows. For the Pozzos to maximise his sale value they'd be mad to let him go now, bearing in mind that he only played for us for half a season.
His value would just go down in Spain, even if Silva only saw him as a squad player ( which I don't think he will ) he would still be worth more with a another season of 10-15 EPL games under his belt than he would with a full season in Spain.
Walter Mazzarri is watching in his sparsely decorated lounge with a cigarette in his hand shouting something in Italian. His interpreter, still frustratingly on a 5 year deal, mutters in translation to the empty nothingness - 'not good enough'.
Chelsea spent £40m on Doucoure's 2014 Rennes teammate, Bakayoko... Not only have we got the better deal, but on Saturday's evidence, we might just have the better player! Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
Bakayako didn't play. He's injured (more fool Chelsea for buying an injured player in the first place)
Yeah I know, just meant Doucoure looks a really class act. Oddly, Conte has said Bakayoko is not quite ready for Premier League football anyway... strange goings on at Chelsea Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
Reckon Conte will leave. He was apparently told there wouldn't be that many more signings and that he has to use the youth- after selling Chalobah to us and loaning out Kasey Palmer to Hudders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Palace and Baker to Boro. Anyways, don't care about them. The future Patrick Vieira is just a class player. Hopefully we don't sell him this winter
What I like about him is he is improving every game he plays . I thought Saturday was his best game . On top of that he added what every top class player has to add , and that's goals ... and goals at key times .
It is with great sadness that I can announce Doucoure's season is now effectively over. I have included him in my fantasy team meaning he will inevitably do nothing else all year.
Nice little fluff piece in the Guardian about our majestic powerhouse and future club legend... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/03/watford-abdoulaye-doucoure
We are so very lucky that the paper work for the loan move to Lorient was 33 seconds late! Mazzarri could have inflicted much more damage than the dross that was served up last season, had the loan gone through.
A bumper new pay deal for our top talent http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/abdoulaye-doucoure-set-become-watfords-11758564
