Just seen that the Italian papers this morning are saying that Napoli are no longer interested in him. Unless of course the translation was wrong. It translated to Napoli loosens on Karnezis.

Further investigation and actually reading the article would suggest that they don't really have any solid evidence at all and are just speculating due to the delay. BUT we'll have to wait and see.

 

Maybe it was initially turned down and we've appealed ? Would explain the delay.

 

Richarlison was a young prospect when we were first rumoured to be signing him. After the delays he must be approaching retirement by now... Do we still want him??

Ajax would have liked to see Richarlison, but the outside player chose English Watford over an adventure in Amsterdam. But Monday comes out that Richarlison does not get a job visa, so the outside player returns to Fluminense. On social media, the link with Ajax was soon laid back, but according to Overmars, Ajax is focusing on another Brazilian outfit and Richarlison is no longer in the picture.

He would get through, potentially, on the exceptions clause on appeal.

Unless we are loaning him back to Fluminese I dont see why we are giving up now.

My guess is that yes, he has been rejected a work permit initially. But now it is on appeal and we will have to wait and see.

The club and the player seemed pretty confident that a wp would be granted. Afterall Peneranda you would have thought the club would have learnt from the experience.

Its alright Silva we will sign the players you want only caveat, none are able to play in the uk.

Doesn't all of this simply stem from Silva saying on Saturday that he wouldn't discuss Richarlison as he wasnt officially ours until he had a work permit? Every time I see a badly translated link to an alleged update they get weirder, I mean why would there be any tickling with work permits? I only allow tickling when looking for promotion!

 

Quite right. There are plenty of past cases of players at the same career stage getting permits, and there should be absolutely no deviation if it's for Watford not Chelsea.

 

Why would we then send him back to Brazil. Sending him to a Spanish team on loan is more likely so he could build up to qualifying for a Spanish passport.

 

IF the WP application has been rejected, it's my belief that the club won't even mention it and he'll quietly fly back to Brazil before rocking up elsewhere in Europe. Seems the club have been very deliberate in saying nothing official and allowing all the stories to come from other sources - which also says to me the WP issue was probably always a 50/50 situation.
