John Cross, the man in the mirror, has reported that we are interested in signing the ex spurs youngster.

A slightly odd man, John Cross.

I tend to believe it to be honest, even if it is scribbled in an awful rag.

Why on earth would we need another right back with Janmaat and Femenia already here?!

Fredericks is homegrown, meaning we don't have to adhere to the 25 man squad rule.

Well I think we can all agree that we loved the last Fulham fullback to play for us so why not . . .

When you think about it, that Deeney goal would never have happened if Matthew Briggs was a competent defender.

    Club legend IMO.

Maybe Janmaat is on his way? Good player but too injury prone.

Maybe femenia is seen as more of a winger? Wasnt it only one season he played as a fullback?

you're right. Thank god he stayed on the post from the first half corner and cleared the ball away

If he hadn't that moment wouldn't have mattered

I always felt Briggs has actually got some fairly harsh criticism over the years. He certainly wasn't the worst full back to play for us in recent years, just like he wasn't the best.

I don't think so. At the end of the day he came in and did a job for us. We all liked pudil more but tbh there was not much difference between the two.

Briggs was woeful. He had no motivation at all. Cost us in the Burnley and nearly Leicester games

Didnt we have 2 full backs last year? Didnt they both get injured a lot and we had to play Cathcart or Amrabat at full back? Makes sense to me to be looking at covering ourselves with the unused homegrown spaces in the 25 man squad.

Are you insane? How can there be comparisons made between Pudil and Briggs. Only one the position they played. Pudil was far superior in every department.

How many teams in the Prem have three first-team quality specialist right-backs in their squad?! Usually two good options in each position is good enough for most squads and it's not exactly the most vital area of the pitch. Cathcart generally did alright as well.

Would be a waste of wages and mean lack of playing time to go around. Having only one first-team quality left-back (who is 33) is more of a pressing issue.

For someone reason he was hyped up by some Watford fans (Seems to happen a fair bit) and when he turned out to be dog **** it made him seem to be worse than he really was.

No I just tend not to sensationalise like a portion of our fanbase. You make it sound like he was the worst full back to don our kit. We all know that's not the case.

Can't see this happening. With Cleverley, Cathcart, Deeney, Hughes, Bachman and possibly Chalobah, or 7 HG slots are taken.

I agree. The pressing concern even last year was left back cover. I have already mentioned on a different thread that Samir from Udinese could cover for both Britos and Holebas. Better tackler than both and can transition at speed out of defence. Looks better than many so called wing-backs. We could compensate our Italian brothers in the usual way! COYHS

Now we have got plenty of HG options we can concentrate on the often cheaper top foriegn stars to strengthen at the back and for an extra striker or two.
