Just to join in I've also seen suggestions that it may be £5m along with us dropping future payments for Vydra/Anya.

Would be happy with this. One of Derby's three good players (along with Vydra and Anya).

£5 million would be a great deal!! Good to see the Pozzo's thinking on the right lines, along with Cleverley in January it shows good intent.

Nah the best one was when he "tackled" that German bloke:

£5m for Hughes is surely worth a punt?? Was supposed to go for a lot more a few years back

    Seen on the Derby Forum:

Probably already been mentioned. But we have just paid £3.5m for anya and £8.5m for vydra from Watford. So they are taking the p"ss if they think vydra is worth a lot more than Hughes. They've already ripped us off twice surely not a third time

Got to laugh at Derby fans thinking he is worth more than £5mil. He hasn't proven himself at the top level at all and he certainly isn't worth the £15mil they think he is worth.

Sign him for £5mil and wipe off the rest of the money they owe us for Vydra and Anya. If they are still upset, put in a 5-10% sell on clause. If we sell him for £30mil one day at least they get £1.5-£3mil, that's a lot for tinpot club like them.

He was out injured for most of a season, and his form was patchy when he returned. I don't think he was a guaranteed starter.

However, he does have genuine quality, is homegrown and can pass a football well. Would suit Silva's counter attacking game by quickly picking out counter attackers. A move away from Derby is probably best for both parties.

For 5mil, he's an absolute steal.

As far as young HG midfielders go, I'd much prefer Jon Toral.

I don't like the way he chews his food either .

We need a first XI of technically gifted , attacking players that can entertain and masticate in a manner that is pleasing to the eye.

Never finishes a meal the wasteful barsteward and then rips into the poor sap who made it. It's the most ill-mannered drama series I've ever seen.

Some Watford fans are getting very aloof in their thinking, it's not that long ago the likes of Derby would be cherry picking our talent. just because a player is in a lower league doesn't mean they can't make the step up, and us buying him would not make him a reject.

Agreed ,some of the jokes are mildly amusing ,however lets retain a little humility and perspective, it wasn't that long ago we avoided go into admin .

For the crazy money deals we are seeing these days ,Hughes could be a great deal , especially if Silva could get the youngster firing on all cylinders again.

Agreed, in 1880 we couldn't sign any Derby players as we didn't even have a club.

True, but the very next year we started the trend of mass signing an entire squad. Some would do well to remember that when moaning about signing a paltry 8-10 players!

I said in 1881 and I'll say it now, we need stability, not massive upheaval every season.
