Yep, and I am delighted that the club are doing the right thing by him. He got injured playing for the club, and now they are looking after him.
http://m.tycsports.com/futbol/mauro-zarate-cerca-de-volver-velez According to this article Zarate wants to go back to Argentina, it says his agent which is his brother has been over trying to get him released from his contract.
Sounds like a load of bollox to me... He barely played 2 games and he feels he is ready to move off? If true, I would actually be quite disappointed to see him go because in the very little time he actually had, he looked very good.
He probably always wanted to end his career there, and the horrific injury may have changed his perspective somewhat.
his also been spending the time his been injured in Argentina with his family and probably wants to stay near them now
Sounds like it could be a Pozzos open door opportunity, allowing him to move on officially on his "own terms" without further cost to the club, after putting him right to say thanks for being willing. I would like to have seen more of him and wouldn't be averse to seeing him tried out in August.
He's one of a number of players that I'm excited to see how they perform under Silva. I'd be disappointed if he left after showing promise in a predominantly uncreative side.
I would have liked to see it work out for him, but I'm not sure he will recover to be able to do it in the Prem.
Always thought it was a sound option to pay up his contract once the nature of the injury was confirmed. It works to everyone's benefit; he wont be i the squad for the first half of the season; allows Silva to bring in a player; allows Zarate to settle his recovery in an environment of his choice and gives him financial security while looking for another club.
He's due back for pre-season. The medical guy has said that from literally the week after it happened and it was confirmed again on the official site in the last month. Has asked us if he can be loaned to Velez Sarsfield as they don't have the money to buy him: https://www.todomercadoweb.es/mercado/velez-sarsfield-mauro-zarate-pide-a-watford-una-cesion-214503
almost certainly fake as he's a nailed on 1st team player for us ... overseas reporters or veluz fans probably just noticed how few times he played and have reached the wrong conclusion.
He's been training in a full Velez Sarsfield kit this summer. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVz4L3lFVvY/?taken-by=maurozarate20
Almost certainly not fake as his brother (who is also his agent) has given a radio interview stating that a loan back to Velez is Zarate's preferred option. Doesn't mean it will happen as they might not be able to afford him but sounds like it's what he wants.
We signed him for 2.3 plus wages. He played 3 games. If he's gonna **** off now, they should pay what we paid and cover the wages we wasted over the last 6 months. Why the hell did he sign for us?
Took one look at Watford high st and faked an injury to get out of the place . If only the charter place redevelopment had been completed by then , as it would have changed his mind.
There is a photo from his Instagram account on the Watford website in a new training top. So either he is back in the UK or we shipped one out to him. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWZ0wBjl4vn/?taken-by=maurozarate20
Salary and recuperation should have been covered by insurance. Whatever, that money is spent. Players unfortunately have all the power these days. If they want off then there's little point continuing to pay them to rot in the reserves. If he's happy to stay and is recovered and good enough to contribute then he's welcome. If he wants to go elsewhere then lets move on.
Seems as if he's staying if this is true (if you don't speak Spanish, you'll need Google translate or similar): https://twitter.com/CLMerlo/status/885266475401056256 Provided he gets fit, he's another player I believe will do well under Silva.
Has there been any indication anywhere as to how far along into his rehab he is? Must be back in at least light training by now I would think?
Well. He's off the booze, but is struggling with the Cheese and Onion. Silva keeps finding bags of them hidden in the hedges along the cross country route around London Colney. Seems to be a problem for a few of the lads.
This is indeed a worrying development. I fear this is a plot by that grinning goon Lineker to sabotage our season. Let's hope Holebas doesn't discover the Special Edition Taramasalta and Oozo box hidden in the pantry.
Says here he is full training with the team and working on his match fitness. Great news , looking forward to seeing more of him. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/injury-update-hornets-return-training
