    photo completely out of context

Troy heard the words 'pepper' and thought there was a steak barbecue going off outside

**** vs Man Utd and then fighting with the police afterwards. I don't think we'll see him play for the club again.

    Haha that's quite something!

I enjoy how some articles try and insinuate he was plastered by saying things along the lines of ‘the club do deals for a table and bottles of drink!!’.

It is a non-story purely fuelled by the fact there’s a picture of Troy with police looking angry and an easy target for the ‘press’. Rooney would have and has got similar treatment where as you can imagine if it was someone like Kane the headline would read what it should ‘Premier league star assaulted in night club’ rather than trying to portray Troy as a thug.

This is a golden opportunity for Deeney to score in our next game and do some sort of clever celebration making light of it all.

If she held pepper spray that close to Troy's face he could have used a forged HSBC letter as a shield to save his sight.

Agreed. If the officials see this I can see her getting a retrospective 3 match band

Kane has the good sense to live in the way required of a hugely remunerated top player, Deeney, for all the careful 'brand building' and Rooney seem to struggle with the concept and get drawn towards the late night drinking/ clubbing idea. It's why Rooney's top flight career will finish a lot sooner than it might have done.

To be fair the DM's report simply states that a bloke wanted a photo, Troy refused and the guy tried to start a fight, then one of the bloke's mates waded and the bouncers simply removed all of them. Non-story.

This is why I'm so glad our normal police aren't armed in the UK

So many times you see these useless 5"3 policewomen going for pepper spray, tasers, batons etc. At the first sign of trouble because they are physically incapable of dealing with rowdy situations

I bet Troy has a great game on Saturday now.

He's always been better when he feels he has a point to prove.

It seems like a complete non story, however I wish Troy would stop hanging around nightclubs in Birmingham.

He might have sorted himself out now, but that doesn't mean that everyone else is quite as sensible.

This story is a complete non-event. Goes out to blow off some steam because we have a 2 week break between games, gets punched twice by idiots and doesn't fight back, then gets a jobsworth female police officer holding pepper spray in his face while he's walking out because she wants a bit of attention too. Even the sun are making a mockery out of it which says everything

Still don't understand the logic of holding pepperspray to Troy's face shouting "get back" despite the fact he's clearly being escorted that way out of the club. Idiots like the woman in the video make situations worse, despite their job being to defuse situations

I don't get it either. Threatening to spray you in the face with pepper spray is hardly defusing a situation.

Only just seen this. Agree entirely - what is he thinking about, coming out with this stuff? Cocky, unprofessional and, as you rightly say, a hostage to fortune. It's not as though he was asked for his opinion on the incident, which would have been bad enough: he's clearly volunteered a criticism of the player, which is seen as a cardinal sin within the game.
Can only think there's some bad blood between them from an earlier game, perhaps with Ramsay mouthing off when they ran rings round us in the league game after we'd stopped them winning the Cup once more. Either way, it's time someone had a quiet word, as we're going to start making ourselves seriously unpopular.

Its not logic, its necessity due to policing physical fitness standards being lowered to allow for diversity in gender hiring

The bench press requirement to get into the police force has now been reduced to 35kg, which is about the weight you would expect the average 14 year old boy to be able to lift

As a result you end up with situations where a 5"2 police woman is up against an angry huge man like Troy Deeney and because she is physically incapable of doing her job, she goes straight for the pepper spray. Its dangerous and the desperation for gender equality for the sake of it in policing puts everyone at risk

Its something which has annoyed me for a long term and this incident is a perfect example

Finally got round to watching the video. That policewoman is an absolute f**king moron and she's lucky she didn't cause a riot. The situation seemed reasonably calm before she totally unnecessarily came bundling in and pushed the woman Deeney is with (his wife?) and then brandished pepper spray right in his face when he understandably got annoyed.

Hopefully the fact that this has been filmed and reported in the media will result in her being spoken to about her conduct and reminded what the purpose of her job actually is.

She'll be in trouble for that. Steaming in when he was quietly exiting the club. She came out of nowhere to start bother.

So come on then smart arses, what was said to the police women that made her push the lady back ? What had been said and what happened in the build up to the 7 second clip ?

    Stop guessing or assuming

I have my own personal reasons. I'm sorry if it bothers you so much.

Anyway, this is a thread about Troy Deeney so I'm not going to discuss it any further here. If you'd like to PM me then I'd be happy to talk there.

I don't have twitter so I'm not actually bothered, but I'd imagine you'll **** more than several people off.

I'll let you off if you'll promote my diet tips which I gave to Deeney to make him good again - I took the cheese off of his triple big Mac.

It's a figure of speech. But yes, had the police officer sprayed pepper spray in a crowded area where tensions were already high after a physical altercation involving a number of people who had had a drink had already taken place it would have caused a pretty serious disturbance to say the least. Just a totally brainless thing to do.

How do you know that the tensions were high or there had been a physical altercation involving a number of people ?

The video doesn't show that ? or are you going on what the "sun" said, what was said on twitter this morning, which did name the wrong nightclub as well.

I take it your guessing and now over dramatising the point

Good thinking. It might not even be Deeney in the footage at all. Could be an actor or CGI.

I'm not sure what footage you're seeing mate? I think it's quite clear that her actions have the potential to start a war.
