Fringe player at United, behind Carrick/Herrera/Fellaini/Pogba/Rooney in the pecking order Competition for Capoue and Behrami. Well... better than Behrami. Knows the league, has played at Southampton, a club that in his time there was at a very similar stage to our 'project'. 6 month loan with an eye to a permanent deal ~ £15m? West Ham, West Brom rumoured to be sniffing. Would say we are in with a shout if he's available.
If the Pozzo's were to spend 15 mill on a player it'd certainly wouldn't be for him. I imagine Southampton would be interested if there was a chance he could move.
If it is a realistic possibility then i would certainly hope we're in for him. Very good player with experience in the league.
I still feel like he'd see us as too much of a 'step down' for him, whether that reflects reality or not. I'd love to see him here, but is he not a bit too similar to Capoue as a central midfielder, rather than the breaker-upper/destroyer that we really can be said to need? I'll admit, I don't think he's as luxury/inconsistent a player as Capoue can be, but does he answer a major question for us, and is it worth it considering the outlay that would be required and the fact that it'd be spent on someone who will have no value by the end of a contract?
Man Utd already in talks with Everton for a double deal Schneiderlein and Depay ... according to the currant bun. Everton are also after Gabbiadini after having offer refused in summer .
Apparently WBA are in for him.... if they are successful I'd see this as a major Miss out, surely we're on par with them !!
Apparently Baggies have put in an 18 million pound bid, we could match this he is the type of player we need.
Think that bid might be a favour to United to up the price for Everton. He'd be great but I think he's beyond both us and Westbrom.
We beat West Ham and they are lower than us ! It doesn't mean We'll sign Payet! There's a few other things to compare than that! I'd say we're in the same pot as WBA to be fair !
Surely better than that? At least Walt doesn't wear a baseball cap,no one over the age of 16 should do that.
That matches their highest transfer ever (Chadli) He's on £115k/week at United. There is no chance that West Brom are going to pay him that wage.
Surely he has to take a wage cut when he goes to his next club, how can a player really expect to leave Manchester United because they don't want them and go to the likes of West Brom and Watford and get the same weekly wage. It would certainly be worth mactching West Broms bid if true though.
Yes he's more of a box to box midfielder. He's less skilful and powerful with his running, but has significantly better work rate and leadership skills than Capoue. 13m in today's money is an absolute steal.
