I'm happy to translate. Firstly Iggy says somewhat enigmatically: "Don't waste your breath talking to people who really deserve to be cold-shouldered" Then he says to Success: "I'm an awfully long way away now, old chap. I do hope you're able to excel in your football back over there. I'm missing you!" Success replies: "I miss you too old fellow! I'll definitely be giving it my all. Today we've been out for a run. You know how the coach is - he'd like to turn us into the Italian national team. Ha ha ha ha ha." Hope that clears it up for everyone.
I didn't realise you were so posh, bruv. Next thing, you'll be applying for membership of the Metropolitan Elite.
Perfectly normal thanks not one that goes in for picking holes in every post Watford players put online but saying the coach wants to turn the team into the Italian National Team and then deleting the comment makes it pretty clear what he meant.
Success should remain an impact sub, as he does not seem to have the stamina for 90 mins, plus so far he has been rather injury prone, therefore I think that position might be ideal for him.
Isaac Success I can't for the life of me understand how Success hasn't got at least 45 mins of fitness in his legs. He's been back for about 6 weeks now. Why hasn't he played for u23s to build up his fitness ? 15 min cameos are not going to help him get fit. Surely he must be on a special fitness plan. I appreciate young players need to be looked after, but really, if he has a worse injury than we are being told, one that needs to be managed, then why risk him on the bench at all if he can't play at his full potential. Also he bottled it last night in the final seconds and should have scored rather than turning his back wondering if the keeper would hit him. I know he is young but I thought that was poor from the lad.
I don't think Wally trusts him or thinks he's mentally disciplined enough. As a pure attacking outlet he's a great option, probably the best at the club, but I've seen little from him yet in his cameos to suggest he's much use at holding up the ball or helping the team defend when out of possession. And as you say his cowardly flinch at the end yesterday won't help.
I think it's more a case of Wally worrying about his recent injuries. He'll ease him in slowly rather than risk him breaking down again. He's had the option to do so recently due to a near fully-fit squad. As much as I'd like to see him start games it seems sensible to me.
I really don't get this succession of 10 minute cameos for Success throughout the season. Is the bloke fit or not? If he is fit he should surely be getting 30 minutes plus at least. In fact, why not start? I really like him. He spells 'danger' more than N'Diang. In what way would a 21 y.o. not be 'fit' to do at least 30 mins unless he's carrying a specific injury in which case why is he on the bench at all?
I think and hope that yesterday's limited game time was due to the injuries to Zarate and Janmaat and Walt not risking it until 80 minutes. Having said that I still can't fathom how he missed that chance and I was right behind it!
I agree that tactically he is found wanting and has often left our fullbacks exposed - surely additional match practice is needed to help him - I just don't understand why he isn't playing in u23 team. I think we all agree he is a huge threat going forward but it appears wally may have decided that this season will be cameos only ... although who fills zarates position ? I had high hopes for Doucoure but he isn't good enough to start in my opinion.
I assume you have an example of when he has 'often left our fullbacks exposed' and that you aren't just churning a football cliché without any real basis.
I love the way this guy plays. It's a pure joy to see him on the pitch running with the ball. I don't consider that miss a bottle job. I think he just misjudged the ball. It was a frustrating miss, but nothing to do with bottle....IMO.
If we carry on picking up injuries like this he'll get a start soon anyway. The way Wet Spam were snapping at our midfielders heels last night I can completely see why he didn't come on earlier.
Amrabat will be back. I'm not a 4-4-2 person, but would love to see Succcess paired with Deeney, Niang and Amrabat outside and Cleverley Capoue/Behrami inside. If Isaac's leg falls off, it falls off. Bring on someone else.
I'm very pro Success - and would love to see him play more - but defensively he can be found wanting - which he will learn - I think that's why Walter isn't giving him too much game time - I would hate to see his attacking threat curbed - maybe tactically we need toadjust to accommodate him Next season we will hopefully have a fully fit front 5 of Success, niang, pereyra, Zarate and deeney - that will scare the life out of lots of teams
It won't scare the life out of anyone if the tactical plan next year is carry on thumping it long to Deeney
Isaac Success has been at fault for at least 32 of the goals we've conceded this season and his 7 own goals and 12 red cards is a league high and shows how he's letting the side down. He has a lot to learn before he can play every week.
It wasn't just the chance at the end yesterday that he bottled. His mind wasn't in it, even before he cowed out of that golden chance at the end. It was every time he got the ball. He had about six chances to be aggressive and he was cowardly each time, timidly losing the ball. I would guess he is having some psychological difficulties from his injuries, and he is being protected by Walt. If that performance yesterday told us anything, it is that Isaac is not yet ready- whether emotionally or physically, to make an impact.
Are people seriously having a pop at him when he's given 8-10 minute spells at the end of a match? He needs a run in the team to be judged
FML. The biggest load of horse **** I have ever read. So he didn't set the world alight in the 10 mins he was on the pitch? And he missed a good chance? And he didn't beat his man like he Normally does. 10 ****ing minutes he was on the pitch ....And you come to that conclusion? Some of our fans are a ****ing joke.
Calm down and stop being so emotional. He bottled out of a number of 50-50s. Every 50-50 he had. He was timid. It was different from a player who is unconfident. He was scared, and thoroughly unprepared to step on the pitch and make an impact. The more minutes we give him since he has come back from his latest injuries, the worse he looks. Don't act like 'Let's give him more minutes then' is clearly the only option.
