I wonder who the ****** was at BT Sport that picked ManUre v Reading as the live game. It was always going to be a walkover so of very little interest to neutral supporters, most of who despise ManUre anyway

Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs on TV at home to lower league opposition whilst two non league teams remain in the cup. And don't even get me started on Cambridge vs Leeds being broadcast.

THE MAGIC OF THE FA CUP

The FA Cup is an absolute joke of a competition these days and will remain so until we next get to the quarter finals.

Did WBA/Stoke and Bournemouth all play weaken sides?

Seems such a waste as they should go to win it..

PNE v Arsenal is the only TV fixture worth watching..

Muff made 11 changes, not sure about Stoke...but both of them cost me a £1,200 acca...more reason to hate them.

Stoke were pretty much full strength, Wolves did really well (that Costa bloke looks a bit useful)

"Klopp doesn't want a replay". Should have put out a decent team then!

This weekend has shown the FA Cup to be approaching League Cup and international break in terms of interest level.

Won't be surprised if it's demoted to a midweek competition soon.

The sainted Eddie regularly makes wholesale changes if memory serves.

    This time they didn't work.

Scrap the league cup. Put everybody in at the first round of the FA Cup and let's make it more interesting

Maybe next year this thread should just run up to the Third Round. I actually find it more interesting following the fortunes of the non-league clubs and seeing how far they can go. It's so sad it's come to this. I remember as a kid in the 90's being bloody excited for the first rounds of the cup and watching the highlights on MOTD with summaries from Tony Gubba and Gerald Sinstadt. Glory days indeed!

Thanks for posting the Sheff Weds video. That was the first time we'd played a Premiership team in my time following Watford and I remember being very excited by that fact as an 11 year old. Nice to see my old East Stand season ticket seat again too!

Yes heady days! I think the first time for me was the epic two legged Coca Cola cup affair against Spurs in about 1994 I think. Back then, these games were a rarity indeed.

You need to follow this bloke on YouTube (TJS Sports) he has so many old footy videos he keeps putting up of old recordings from the 90's! A few Watford ones too, latest is this little beauty:

Woooooter!! Definitely my high of that season (not much competition, to be honest), was close to the front of the Rookery and went apes**t when Smart scored.

    Funny how the mind plays tricks over the years. I thought our goal came much later - around 75 - though I do recall us withstanding a bit of a siege (which isn't really reflected in the highlights);

Scenes in the cup tonight. Sutton won 3-1 at Wimbledon and Lincoln have beaten Ipswich 1-0 (in memory of GT!) to see two non-league clubs in the 4th Round! Now that's what I'm talking about! McCarthy out!!

Also I think Utd are confirmed as being on TV once more against Wigan. 56 times in a row. Absolute joke.

Brilliant winning goal as well. Counter attacking play that we can only dream of.

Lincoln may well have beaten us had we'd been playing them! Yes, it was a great goal.

Leeds and Brighton going for promotion so both might stand a chance at home if they play weaker sides.

BBC will be pleased they got that one in.

Now they can also show Man U v Wigan..

Last time Lincoln reached the 4th round? 1976. Their manager? Graham Taylor...

Cringey and possibly messed up GT themed signoff from Gabby Logan at the end.

Over 17,000 at Home Park to see Scousers Kids XI scrape past Plymouth!

Cracking atmosphere although the red end was silent most of the match!

Plymouth unlucky to be knocked out the cup by a good top flight side by a single goal.

    Again.

Well a former loanee scored at Anfield to help cause a shock and now Luke O'Nien is helping Wycombe maybe create a bigger one at WHL!

Come on Wycombe!! Surely they won't hold on, even if it is 0-2 at the moment!?
