TBH, they're just 20YO and 18YO respectively. I'd be surprised if they weren't raw.

I thought Watford had a problem with quality crosses or good through balls in an attacking sense ,Granada are terrible 2 freekicks straight to keeper , on the strength of that half Doucoure looks useful , success needs to change his name !!

Success just wasted a huge opportunity to win it

No idea how he didn't put that chance away.

For those not watching it, Success ran onto a great pass through the middle of the defence, showed impressive pace, tried to round Ochoa in the Malaga goal but the ball seemed to get stuck under his feet and, just as Success passed Ochoa, he got a hand to it. Success was going very wide with the ball anyway.

Malaga just missed a good opportunity to score, too.

    0-0, 10 minutes left.

Success has very good physical and technical capabilities, as he showed with his runs, with a perfect back-heel pass to a team-mate, with his helping the defence.
But he must definitely improve A LOT in coolness and decision-making in front of the goal.

Hopefully develops like he should, can be a very exciting player. Would you say he's best played in a central attacking role, or better off deeper?

Hes getting involved and making things happen to be fair, always a danger

Oh dear, yellow card for a dive now

He is a beast physically for a winger tbf, will be well suited to the PL in that sense

Success just cut in from the left side, took on the defender, dived when just inside the box and got booked.

    Welcome to Watford, Isaac...

I agree. A really awful game is when you're anonymous and also make mistakes. But Success seems to be working his socks off today, he's everywhere and is showing good skill and energy.
Performance marred by the two bad mistakes in front of the goal (and by the yellow card for diving happened right now).
    Disappointing, maybe yes. Awful, not.

Granada were very unlucky not to get the 3 point tonight, Success' miss was criminal in the context of their survival bid sadly

I thought Doucoure had another excellent game though, he reminds me of Capoue a little

He's reminded me of Forestieri in that sense. Looks bright and troubles defenders, but lacked end product.

Definitely a promising performance, though. It's easier to coach finishing than it is finding players with a natural ability to get in the right position.

Very nearly won a penalty, too - inches outside the box, free kick given. If he is actually coming to us next season, I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

True, he somewhat looks like a Forestieri, but also with a physique more Deeney-like and a speed almost like Vydra. :sign15:
Unfortunately, the coolness in front of the GK are those of Forestieri or disheartened-Vydra. :dismay:
Anyway, he looks very promising and I think more and more he could find the environment of English football particularly well suited to him.

I liked Doucoure when he was on the ball and thought he was a bit more mobile than Capoue.

But off ball, there was something I wasn't so keen on. It is difficult to explain, but he seemed to be "attached" to the ball by a long piece of elastic. Continuously running towards, or in the direction of, the ball, but rarely anticipating where the ball was going (well I know what I mean). This meant that he went for long periods without getting actually involved.

Hopefully, I am wrong, or maybe it was just anomaly of that game.

Have not been very impressed by Success so far. Did not see the game last night either, and hope I'm proven wrong.

He's got the physical attributes to play in England but it'll be interesting to see how his game develops. I'm not so sure you can coach coolness in front of goal, I think players either seem to have it from a young age or not. I have been very impressed with his work rate in the games I've seen and he always causes defences problems. IF he can overcome the problems with decision making, he could be an excellent player. Big if though!

    I humbly disagree.
IMHO there are other qualities in a player that are "within him" or there are not and cannot be easily coached. Above all: good feet, reflexes and instinct.
Decision making and coolness ARE things you can learn or at least improve a lot with experience.
Otherwise, how is it that many say the "perfect" age for an attacker is 27YO?
Of course, there are some players who already show incredibly good coolness and decision making even at young age. But those players usually end up playing in big big teams and not in Pozzo's teams, unless our scouting network is really lucky in finding a hugely precious gem.

Agreed, pre-Zola Deeney and post-Zola Deeney is a prime example, particularly in the championship.

    FT: 2-0.

Udinese and Sampdoria were neck and neck in the league, so this would have been a massive result for them. A unfortunate deflection was the first, and the second was a fine strike. Udinese however have only themselves to blame for not going ahead on 30 mins. How Zapata didn't get that header on target I'll never know.

Watched 3 out of 4 last Grenada games Isaac hasn't lived up to his name ,Peneranda looks a find a real talent in the raw , Doucoure though has impressed me the most , looks very composed indeed I moved, Sorry Sherlock haven't had the time to watch the Udinese games as well.

Decent but somewhat unlucky performance in the 0-2 against Sampdoria. A draw wouldn't have been undeserved.

Luckily, thanks to the win against Napoli, being 6 points above 17th and 18th, we only need a few more points for safety assured.
    Verona is already practically relegated.
Unless we do a disaster, the remaining relegation slots are an affair between:
1&2) Carpi (28pts) and Frosinone (27pts), two minnows freshly promoted both for first time and who are punching above their weight, but doing decently given their budget and with lots of courage. If it were not for the fact that WE are 16th, I'd like them both to be safe.
    3) At 28 points, doing worse and worse lately, is Palermo of the owner Zamparini. To describe him, consider one with the style of Cellino (maybe even worse).
With the firing of manager Novellino and the recalling at the helm of Ballardini, they have now the NINTH manager this season (Iachini - Ballardini - Schelotto - Viviani - Tedesco - Bosi -Iachini - Novellino - Ballardini).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Zamparini the chap who hired and fired Beppe twice in a season?

Palermo is a disgrace and a stain on Italian football. Their owner should.be forced out of the club and banned from football related activity.

Granada trail 1-0 away at A. Madrid, unlucky not to be level after Rochina hit the post with a great strike

Doucoure and Penaranda playing, the latter has been anonymous, the former playing very well

Udinese drew 0-0 at home vs Chievo. Chievo are just about in the top half, Udinese now sit 5 points above the relegation zone with 5 games to go.

Doucoure absolutely outstanding today against Atletico. Lots of praise for him on Twitter from Atletico fans as well as Granada fans saying that he's pretty much their best player every game.

Penaranda very isolated upfront, didn't have much chance to get involved until a couple of promising late dribbles where he was fouled both times. Still, no shame in finding it hard against Atletico's defence!

    A huge sigh of relief!
    Udinese 2 - Fiorentina 1

Very good match. Fiorentina with a lot of possession, but never really dangerous and missed her great chance to fight for 4th place.
We've hit twice woodwork, missed a sitter and Fiorentina should have had a red card in FH for foul on clear goal chance.
We climb to 14th place in table, 38 points, +8 on 18th with 4 matches left.
At last, I think I can say we are safe for another year and we'll enjoy our 22nd consecutive season in top tier.

Now, best of luck to Granada for tomorrow's hugely important match against Levante.

    Granada_Levante 2-0 at 41'.
Goals by Success, clinical in an excellent counterstrike, and El Arabi scoring a (soft) pen for handball.
Come on Granada! Today winning is an absolute MUST, given table situation.

Edit: 43' Rochina (good player BTW) scores for the 3-0! Assist by Success.

For the third goal, Success ran in from the right, took on several players, tripped over the ref, won the ball back on the left before finding Rochina with a pass in the middle to finish nicely. Lovely goal.

Seems like they are all stepping up tonight.

I hope so. Unfortunately, with Granada this year I don't feel safe even at 3-0 at HT. They're even riskier than the famous Zolacoaster.
