Taken from a French footballing website: http://www.rts.ch/sport/football/in...la-serie-a-vers-watford.html?rts_source=rss_t The probability is great to see G*khan Inler and Xherdan Shaqiri leave the Serie A this summer. The two international could take the direction of England and neo-promoted Watford. Also announced at Stoke City, Shaqiri could therefore leave Inter Milan just six months after his arrival from Bayern. "I believed (ed: to Shaqiri) in January and I always think," said the intériste coach Roberto Mancini in "La Gazzetta dello Sport" Saturday. "But (ed: between him and Davide Santon), someone has to leave They are two great players in the English league ...." One way to confirm the interest of some clubs, including Watford, for Shaqiri, for which Inter, however, intends to seek 17 million euros. Shaqiri could also not be the only Swiss to join Almen Abdi in Watford, neo-promoted Premier League. Italian media also greatly evoke a starting G*khan Inler from Naples towards the island. The fact that the Italian Gianpaolo Pozzo is the owner so that Watford Udinese - where Inler made his debut in Serie A - accredit this thesis.
These rumours are just stupid. I'm sick of it all, can the season start please? We don't need any new players we have Abdi, Vydra and Deeney.
Not a chance. Not due to the ambition of the transfer, but because of the fee. £12m-£15m is simply too much for a newly promoted team and a huge huge gamble. Unless it's on a loan deal from Udinese :naughty:
Can you imagine the uproar if we beat an established PL club like Stoke to an expensive player by using our Pozzo connections? There would be limits put on international loans quicker than anything.
My gut reaction is that there's no way this one will happen. On the other hand, it may well turn out to be the ambitious signing/s that convinced Deeney to sign a new contract. I just don't know or care any more.
Muff have put a bid in for £15 million for Austin apparently. Agree it's a crazy figure for one player and I highly doubt this one will happen
I don't see that as crazy at all. Austin is a proven Premiership scorer and for a crap team. If Ighalo is worth £10m then Austin has to be a snip at that price.
If all the rumours of late are true, which of course there's every chance they aren't, it really does look as if we are trying to make one signing that's a real statement of intent as well as providing us with a really talented creative player in our midfield/on the wing. Perotti, Inler, Mertens and now Shakiri all linked with us..certainly the first two names have been the subject of definite bids at least. Exciting times! (Shaqiri is getting his first taste of the English media today btw)
Great player but unfortunately out of our reach I fear. 60k a week offer from Stoke and now clubs involved in Europe sniffing around.
How much below £60k a week do you feel we can/will offer? Our highest earner has just been given another new contract which will bump him up again from what some people on here speculated to be £35k before (no source just my memory of previous threads)
I imagine we would..but I'd be telling them that if they all play their best, we'll not get relegated anyway!
Thing is that vote was a load of tosh, and everyone knows it. Everyone knows the worst place in the UK is L*t*n.
Imagine if we actually signed two players of the quality and reputation of Shaqiri and Doumbia. I mean really, imagine that for a second.
