I said it earlier on in the thread, despite the money I do feel for the guy. Although ultimately the move will make him rich, it's not what was motivating him and he clearly tried everything to stay in the PL one way or the other. Money isn't the be all and end all for everybody, and job satisfaction carries just as much weight for a lot of people. His career is basically over now, he will be playing for money and nothing else. It must be sad for him that at one point he basically had the world at his feet and now he's got to pack up and go and play in some tin pot league in china.

It isn't necessarily the end for Iggy. There are enough quality attackers in China now (Jackson Martinez, Goulart, Alex Texiera, Hulk (kind of, he's f*****g useless), Tevez, Pato, Montero, Zahavi, that any player who really stands out will still interest top Euro clubs.

I wouldn't say his career is over. He's still got plenty of years left, get some confidence back in China for a year and a European club will be in for him. Would love to see him return home to Granada.

There is no doubt there are some quality players there, but my understanding of the latest rules are that clubs can only field three overseas players, which is fair enough for the development of Chinese players, but as the majority of the overseas star players will be attackers, he will be playing against Sunday league standard defenders.

I hope you guys who have been slagging him off are completely ashamed of yourselves.

Thanks for the memories Iggy, you will always be welcome back at WFC, maybe you will get your Mojo back out in China as well as making an absolute fortune. Hopefully you might even come back and play for us in a few years, when your Mojo has returned.

I've been one of his biggest critics recently (not on the forum but in conversations with mates) but that interview was pretty sad.Its fair to say it was the right move for both parties, but this is a guy who wasn't motivated by money or greed, and I think with football the way it is nower days that's pretty impressive. Good luck Odion

Out of all those players you go for Hulk as the ****ing useless one?

All the best Iggy. You gave me so many great memories, and for that I will be forever grateful. Really bought into our club ethos, and that interview shows just how much he cares. Whilst we certainly have some mercenaries in the squad, he was not one of them and although he was out of form with the terrible year on a personal scale that he has had you cant really blame him.

Go do us proud in china Iggy-Pop!

    What a true gentleman.
I hope he's team makes Asian champions league and plays against a Aussie team just so I can watch him play again in real person

    Ighalo-oh !!

He wasn't good enough for the Prem, but that wasn't his fault and it's utterly unfair to hold that against anyone. Really hope he does well in China.

Regardless of whether the deal is 17, 20 or 30 mill, we did bloody well off this transfer (and I'm sure he has, too). On top of that, he certainly played his part in getting us into the Prem and keeping us there.

Plus he put Stones on his arse.

holy crap that was traumatic to watch. Genuinely moving stuff. I have never seen a player like that after leaving any club, let alone us. Let's hope he finds his form in china and he receives the same level of adoration from their fans as he did with us, in his purple patch. I-GA-RO! OH! OR-RAYS BERRIEVE IN YOUR SOUL!

    £20m+ though. KERCHING!

Iggy's interview last night with Sky - he was really welling up and obviously has an affinity with Watford.

I wish him the best of luck over in China but it is definitely the right time for both parties to go their separate ways (esp at £20m!). Hopefully, he'll find his sparkle again.

It's proof, if we needed it, that all players are different entities. While I'm sure we've had several signings under the Pozzo era who really weren't that bothered about our club and just saw it as another passing-through pay cheque, there have also been some class acts as human beings who've genuinely fallen in love with WFC.

Ighalo is definitely in the latter category. Let's hope several of our more-recent signings end up feeling the same way.

Another player that I will really miss, despite his lack of form this past year. I have such fond memories of Iggy from the 2014/15 season and am sorry it hasn't worked out for him this season. You could really feel the emotion during that video interview, and I think we can all agree that he is an absolute gent. Thank you for the memories and your efforts, Odion. You're welcome back anytime!

    Love you Iggy.

Hard to believe that the man in that interview is the same man who has had his dedication and motivation questioned and been repeatedly called a c**t by people on here. Wish him all the very best and hope his heart is more in the move to China than it seems. Will never forget the wonderful moments he gave us.

While he is sad, he's got to look at all the positives of the last 3 years of his life. He arrived here as a back up squad player with no real track record. Nothing lasts forever as Almen, Matty, Gueds et al have found. But that golden year, out of the blue, got us up, kept us up, and has financially set him and his family up for life.

Watching a recent game, I think muff or Boro. The Watford fans were singing his song and the tv cut to him. You could see him thinking "I've scored one this season and these guys are still supporting me" it also looked like he knew he was going and was taking a moment to remember us. His shirt into the crowd on the last day moment.

His dedication and motivation have been on show for a year. Not changed by a sweet little video of regret now that the Chinese are gonna work him like a dog.
