Jellyman was shutting up shop. It had been a quiet evening. Darave was dead, and his lynching had been a foregone conclusion for hours. The town was growing weary, and after a few nights on the drink in a row for most of the village, Jellyman’s pub was empty already. It was barely even midnight.

As Jellyman dried the last tankard with a pristine white dishcloth, he sighed heavily.

“What on earth…?” Jellyman had seen something outside, through the frosted glass windows that fronted onto the road. There was a figure in the road, floating about a foot above the ground. It had its back turned.

Putting down his dishcloth, Jellyman moved towards the door and opened it, slowly. Peering outside, he could see that the figure was cthulhu. The ghost of cthulhu, haunting the village streets.

Cthulhu’s head turned violently towards Jellyman, a flash of his black eyes were seen momentarily by Jellyman, and in an instant the door was slammed shut – Jellyman wished to be safe indoors. He was now hyperventilating.

Getting up, he was knocked back down again immediately, as standing at the bar was a wolf, seven feet tall and ugly. Really ugly.

    “Evening, barkeep.”

The wolf launched a barrage of tumblers, pint glasses, pewter tankards, champagne flutes and boxes of Golden Wonder at Jellyman. There were screams, and there were minor cuts to Jellyman’s arms and face.

As immediately as it started, it stopped. “What’s your pint?” The wolf was calm now.

“Wha-? My pint?” Jellyman was understandably confused. “Cthul- What’s cthul-“

“Never mind him. What do you drink?”

“Well if it’s to be my last I-”

“It will be your last, yes.”

“Anything you like, wolf, to be honest.”

Now behind the bar, the wolf began to rummage around. He was rustling up a cocktail of sorts.

“Drambuie, bourbon, a squeeze of lime… vodka – all organic too, obviously – and some pineapple juice… I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing, you know. Just in case that wasn’t obvious to you. Yoghurt! Mustn’t forget the-“ The wolf had looked up and seen Jellyman pale and shaking, watching and not watching. Glazed over. “What’s up Jellyman? It had to happen some time. At least you’ll have a delicious tipple before I rip you to shreds.”

Jellyman stifled a heave. He was petrified. The wolf’s demeanour was unsettling him; it was like a nightmare.

“I will have to… you know…” The wolf punched a right fist into his left palm. “I can’t just make you a drink and be done with it and leave. You have to go tonight.”

    Still Jellyman said nothing.

“Look… I can put a little poison in there maybe. Make it easier for you. Do you have any poison?”

    Silence.

“Of course not, I suppose, this place is pretty clean and the community’s not going to go poisoning each other down the pub as a matter of course. I’ll just give it some bleach, eh? That’ll do.” The wolf offered the now overflowing glass to Jellyman. The top was frothy, the contents of the glass had congealed. The air was bleach-y.

Jellyman began to drink without saying a word, gulping it down, and was throwing up within seconds. Finishing the drink, he muttered, “I hate you,” and was gone. Dead.

The wolf stomped on his head – flattened it – and left the pub for the night outside.

Jellyman’s blood had filled the corner of the bar. It was red. Jellyman was GOOD. Jellyman would need a successor at the pub quite soon.

Meanwhile, the Guardian was fourteen coffees into the night. A little jittery, but still lucid. Just. He’d been up since Monday morning. He was on another stakeout, this time sat on With A Smile’s roof. The wind up there would keep him awake if the coffee didn’t, he reckoned.

    A shadow crept up WAS’s immaculately-kept driveway.

“Finally!” The Guardian was so bored by the last few nights, and so delirious from the lack of sleep, that he near enough shouted when he saw the wolf.

Stopping in his tracks, the wolf glanced up and saw the Guardian. “What are you doing?” The wolf’s arms were aloft, palms pointing to the sky, shoulders shrugged. He was confused. He wanted WAS.

WAS had stirred, and opened up the front door, a lit candle in his hand. No sooner had his night-capped head been seen to the wolf, it returned back inside. “Sh*t…”

“Oi!” The wolf shouted. “Back out here! Now!”

The Guardian leapt to his feet, screaming “Get out of heeeeerreeee!”

    The wolf raised an eyebrow.

Losing his balance on the roof tiles, the Guardian tripped and rolled down the roof and down a storey onto the driveway.

“This is pathetic,” said the wolf. “Will you just get out of here, you’re causing undue hassle. I’m not here for you, I’m here to make a WAS smoothie. Look,” the wolf pulled a juicer seemingly out of his fur around his hip. “Here’s how it’s going to go down. Bits of WAS will be going in there, and I’m going to plug it in. And then I’m going to drink it.”

The Guardian stumbled up, holding his knee in agony. “Look mate, actually…” He was a little out of breath. “As it turns out, this is a wasted visit.” He extended a hand towards the wolf. The wolf obliged and steadied the Guardian. “Listen. I’m the Guardian, so you’re going to have to leave. That’s just how this whole thing works. So just… P*ss off, okay?”

Forlorn, the wolf patted the Guardian on the back, resigned to defeat, and started to backpedal. He drifted back into the darkness, allowing the Guardian to let out something of a howl while he clutched his knee. The roof was a poor choice, even if WAS wasn’t.

“Oh and that’s a juicer, not a smoothie maker!” The Guardian called back. “You could only juice WAS with that.” WAS opened his bedroom window and stuck his head out, anxious to hear what was being said about him. “Don’t worry about it WAS. I got this.” WAS hesitated a moment, and went back inside and closed his window. “You’d be left with watery humany juice and some pulp!” The wolf was still close enough he could hear this. "You sack of s***! They're very different appliances, juicer and-" The Guardian paused. He started mumbling. "I mean what kind of unbelievable d*** could confuse a juicer and smoothie maker? First he's running riot in the village, killing people at random, then I've got too pick up the pieces... Then I meet the guy and he's an absolute..."

On his way home, the wolf went over the events again and again. Couldn’t he have actually put up a fight? Surely he could have tried to kill them both? “Why didn’t I just knock the sod out?” he wondered aloud.

As he doubted himself more and more, the light from the soon-to-rise-sun was infiltrating the village air. The wolf was transforming back into his daytime self. As the fur, teeth and claws receded, the familiar sight of Diamond appeared. He kept walking and wondering, when all of a sudden…

    *SLICE*

A knife slashed through Diamond’s clothes and skin. Scythed down from behind. A clean cut that made light work of the bomber jacket Diamond had on, and there was blood in there already. A dull thud to the back of the head was the last Diamond could remember before he woke back up in a pristine kitchen.

“Wakey wakey.’ This was the voice of a wolf. Diamond was coming back round. “Now, I wanted you to be awake for this bit.”

Diamond tried to speak but his mouth was gagged. He tried to manoeuvre his mouth free. He was practically screaming.

“Mincey mincey!” The wolf was without feeling as he drove two long knives into Diamond’s eyes, and slowly fed his hand into an industrial mincer. “Every last bit of you’s going through this. I already have the potatoes boiling, and I’m going to make myself a quite delicious dinner. Shepherd’s pie… It’s been too long since my last real shepherd’s pie.”

The wolf was having to force Diamond’s arm into the mincer. This took a lot of effort. Diamond drifted in and out of consciousness, awaking every 30 seconds or so only to vomit from the pain.

“Any culinary tips, baker boy?” The wolf was gleeful. A troubling array of celebrity chef impersonations then followed.

Almost two hours had passed before the wolf’s shepherd’s pie was ready, but the wolf announced to himself that this was “WELL WORTH THE WAIT.” Ravenous and manic, the wolf’s manner of eating had no rhyme or reason, he just dug in.

As the wolf got fuller, it became clearer that something was amiss.

“This shepherd’s pie isn’t overcooked, is it? What have I done wrong here?” The mince was dark and sticky.

Going back into the kitchen, the wolf checked the chopping board and it dawned on him. The chopping board was coated in a film of black slime. The wolf had just accidentally taken one of his own.

    Diamond was EVIL.

Daft Row had been wandering the forests surrounding the village for a few days now. No one had heard from him. Last night he fell into a ravine and broke his neck. He couldn't even be bothered to scream for help. Daft Row was GOOD. Daft Row was no real loss though.

I am at work from mid afternoon until 10pm tonight, so I won't be able to write up the dusk scene until late again. I will however close the village down as close to 8pm as I can, and write up the dusk scene as soon as possible when I'm done.

Remember to vote or risk death.

    Good night, well done Guardian!

So, two villagers were targeted wolves. One attack failed.

From what I can see there's two evil players left? Unless the full moon rule comes into play.

Wolves have killed more of their own than the village have lynched. That's great!

am waiting in a hospital ward but have internet access woo hoo. Diamond was the missing wolf then in my theory, Miked/moog are on the rader today. Harrow may just be innocent and Norway did not mean to hint to him....... I would definitely like the seer to look at Miked/moog today

WAS is a puzzle though. He voted, uniquely, nornironhorn. But why did the wolves go for him and why did the Guardian feel he needing saving out of everybody that voted for Darave?

To be fair, given the size of the field of players, it would be unlikely that we'd lynch more than one correctly in the first 3 days play. That said, I'm not complaining - had definitely helped us out no end.

Can see the full moon coming into play now. And the death of diamond is one less 'suspect' for the seer to have to view. Intrigued to see what messages we have today.

This thing that Norway said....I didn't see it (just the Redacted and warning comment). Should it be made available since some people have seen it?

WAS gave three names yesterday, including diamond and norn. There were three(?) evils left.

WAS was attacked tonight. Diamond was killed by the wolves and found evil.

It is a strange one but potentially the wolf that killed him felt that the other team evil players would not draw attention to themselves like that, therefore making it more likely he was good.

Perhaps, but whatever Norway has said some people have seen and that gives them an edge..no?

It was deleted within a few minutes. It didn't actually say much at all, but he is a dead player and shouldn't be in the Tavern unless it is to haunt it with a poem (RIP Meh!). I doubt very much more than a couple of players saw the message at most. Please don't worry about it, it's as god as meaningless. I do not want this game to hinge on a post that should never have been posted, don't make it so that Norwayhornet ruins the game by letting it dictate your actions. Take it from me, it's just as likely to lead you down the garden path as it is to win you the game. Just leave it.

    I'm not happy about this.

Team Good could have this sewn up by the weekend, but if they don't, it looks like there will be a full moon within the next few days...

Diamond, who was evil was very supportive of Nairobi's theory that Moog and myself could be evil:

"The more I look into Norway's posts and voting the more I'm starting to see. Very interesting indeed."

"I looked at Norways posts from yesterday and he's named Moog and Harrow, but who's the 3rd?"

    Just something to think about.

I understand why you think you should look at me. Unfortunately, I can only repeat that the seer has already looked at me but you have no way of knowing that.

All I can say is that I guarantee that the post from the seer will mention me every day. This, in my mind, gives two options: I am either the alpha, or I am good (although reckless).

Yes I have got overexcited on occasion and lead you down the wrong path. But would the alpha really be so loud and opinionated to draw attention to himself (which I have probably done more than anyone, including loudly going against the grain on the first day), or would he hide in the background?

This game is about winning two battles. You need to convince people that you are good in the day. You also need to convince the wolves at night not to kill you.

So far, I have managed to be loud, in your face, and I am still alive day 4; which I count as a huge success.

Excellent work Guardian. My thinking is the Guardian would have killed the Diamond if another wolf hadn't already picked him for a kill? Either way, good news.

Am I right in thinking there's 2 wolves left and no traitor? Any indication of whether they know each other or not?

And on good's side, we know the Governor has gone but there's no clues to the other roles aside from the Seer being alive as of yesterday and the Guardian still being with us.

Based on yesterday's comments, there's a prime suspect for lynching but let's see what today's messages say first.

I might be miles off heo feel free to correct me...

There are two wolves left, yes?

And these two wolves will surely know each other now? As two of the 3 wolves knew each other so Diamond was obviously the one that didn't. That means both these two wolves voted for Oxhey (or whoever it was that both wolves went for). Will that tell us anything?

We still have one tinker, but no traitor.

We still have our seer (at least one as its widely accepted Norway was the witness) and our guardian.

One thing I will say is that Moog has been quiet recently since accusations went his way, but we should probably wait for BOTH messages today before acting on anything.

Thank you guardian ! I love you x x I think i now know who the guardian is

I bloody told you that Diamond was evil on day 1 ! At least one of the wolves listened to me even if no one else did.

He was clearly trying to divert attention on day 1

OK, my tactics were a little strange yesterday but for good reason.
I deliberately picked on nornironhorn based on a couple of posts that I thought was strange. As i said in my last post yesterday, all i was really doing was fishing for a reaction. Knowing that Darave8 was already a gonner, ot gave me the chance to use my vote to do exactly that, fish.

I'm still very suspicious of Nairobi because of the line he followed with Diamond in the last couple of days. I think he will change tactic today and go with the crowd to try to sneek back under the radar.

I would like the seer to view Nairobi today. I'm not sure about Moog, although he is a very experienced player and would have known that killing me would have diverted a lot of attention elsewhere, he hasn't been mentioned in either message, so for me its just a suspect view of someone experienced.

Wouldn't it have been beneficial if the new seer (If Norway was the seer then, as he couldn't have been the guardian) hinted that he was the new seer? So we could rule out Norway's previous posts as a potential witness.

I also think Norway's writing style is too erratic to have sent any of the messages we have seen.

  28. Harrow Orn

Could be a ploy. Many people change their writing style to hide their identity in the anonymous messages.

So, reading through yesterday - It looks like Diamond was trying to detract attention from Mike.

Nairobi looks extremely suspicious aswell - I hope the Seer views either Mike or Nairobi today.

I don't think that's fair. I've responded to those with about a dozen posts. I missed the end of the game yesterday due to some real life/non village stuff - even missing the voting deadline (thanks for not killing me 352 - I'd have voted for Darave, obviously, based on my posts).

I think saying I've been "quiet" means you've not looked at my posting history.

I also am aware that people who make too much noise on here, often make too much confusion, especially when they think they are getting a bite. I'm wary of the people who are like a dog (related to a wolf) with a bone and who are trying to recruit others, even though their "logic" is based on a massive leap of assumption and further pieces of hearsay.

It was unfortunate that Darave was the tinker, but that's just rotten luck. It was still right to lynch him, as if we'd gone for anyone else, we'd still have Darave, named as evil, confusing the issue every day. It's a matter of elimination. We've eliminated one clear suspect, which is good for us (though bad for Darave - RIP).

The messages are telling us a lot recently, so let's see what we get today. I think we can get the last wolves staked and burned up by the weekend.

  31. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

Indeed. there's no evidence for it whatsoever other than he's "very good" and that, like everyone else in the game, he has accused people.

A quick note on something that was said earlier:

I incorrectly deleted a post by Norwayhornet yesterday evening, thinking it was posted a day after he was killed. I was away from the computer and trying to open the tavern, close the daily thread, etc etc, so didn't see the time stamp and thought he was in the tavern stirring up trouble...

I've apologised to him already, and just wanted to apologise for overcomplicating the game somewhat. I've put the post back in, and hopefully you all understand I was mistaken whilst out of the house and trying to do things on a phone with very little battery left! What a mess I made out of nothing! All very innocuous, but I hadn't seen the post before so assumed it had just been posted when I read it yesterday evening on my phone.

    Apologies again.

That's one thing I didn't think about in my comment earlier. The two wolves potentially don't know each other as Diamond could have known wolf A but been killed by wolf B. So ignore that point on my previous comment.

Well that narrows it down to two roles, unless of course he was actually the back up seer which is something I hadn't thought about

  34. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

We can't be sure that the seer hasn't already viewed Miked. I'm not sure what a message telling us Miked is good, will tell us, unless we also get a Miked is evil. We will be in the same situation as we are now - he's suspect but not proven either way.

I'd like Nairobi or WAS to be viewed. Nairobi, like Miked is claiming that something is evident, when it's not. That's pretty suspect in my book.

I've been instrumental so far in keeping us on the straight and narrow - using the messages as best we can to make the best choices and eliminate doubts (many of you wanted to save Cude on day 1). Simms was on the righ path too, but we lost his logic on (was it day 1?) sadly and now we have bucket loads of "theories" which are designed to confuse people and create random suspects.

Im happy for this, I am still very sure about Miked and Moog and will be happy to be viewed. To be fair, I told you that Darave was the Tinker and I told you that although I knew this he had to be killed to confirm and I was right.
