it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he was shipped over to Granada to rescue them.

We are part of the triumvirate, so we shouldn't be surprised if 'our' talent is exported to help out the other teams who are part of the 'family'...

From what he said it sounds like there is very little chance of him leaving.

But then again, it was the same way with Mr. Integrity. :D

Eh? Not sure if I'm being whooshed here, but here goes.

    It genuinely WOULD surprise me.

Why on earth would Joka turn down the chance of managing a club in the Premier League, to manage in Spain's 2nd tier.

The Pozzos know he would never go so wouldn't be silly enough to ask him, and no manager in their right mind would turn down the PL for a 2nd division side.

Am I the only one who isn't convinced by what he said? Sounds to me like he's off. I really hope not!

I expect he'll be wanting reassurances about summer transfers before signing. I expect he'll get them.

I have to admit, I've knocked Slav's post-match interviews before, but he was quality on the big screen in the stadium, and his Observer interviews today have been pure class :sign15:

Some posts on here still surprise me.

Why on earth would that happen when he took Watford up and The Pozzo's have finally found a coach who the players get on with.

I appreciate opinions are opinions and all that stuff but come on man.

Slav has a proven history of getting lower league teams promoted. We are part of a trio. I'm not advocating that it will happen, just that, given the Pozzo MO, nothing would surprise - such as Vydra going to Granada etc...

    I think that's pretty obvious.

The Pozzos have finally got a "yes" from their ideal man: Roberto Di Matteo.

Deeney, Angella, Abdi and Gomes to Grenada. WFC to rebuild from scratch this summer IMO!

    Really?

A guy who's scored 20 goals here one season and now given his all and scored another 16 this season.

Has grown as a player with us this season due to Slav's advice.

Knows our star midfielder and captain very well plus the rest of the team.

A very determined young man who failed in the Prem last time and will be determined to give it another go.

The Pozzo asset who's probably got the largest up sell value, 23 years and 1 day old, if he bags another 15 next season he's instantly a £20 million £ striker. He's now going to be playing in front of BILLIONS, with cameras every week against the best players in the world.

But it wouldn't surprise you if he went to Granada who are pretty much relegated and destined for the Spanish second tier?

    Okay then.

Fellas - we've suddenly become the most important asset in the Pozzo's stable - they're going to do everything possible to ensure we remain in the premiership. Having us there and staying there is now fundamental to their model. No doubt we'll be helping the other 2, but we're the main event.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if they sold Granada soon, they feel like an after-thought and not sure how profitable they are.

Until Spain come up with a more profitable TV deal it's not worth it.

Agreed, but we should always bear in mind that the Pozzos are Udinese fans at heart.

It's not going to be as simple as Watford getting the very best while the other two clubs split the rest.

The flip side is that with the different emphasis in each country (Physical, Tactical, Technical), it should be fairly rare that a player would be suited to two teams equally well. I would imagine that most players recruited will have a clear best fit.

Well they've just arranged a new TV deal, so let's see how that works out. I can't see them selling Granada, partly because it gives them a third club to spread their players around.

Not to mention the fact that most South American players prefer moving to somewhere like Spain first because of the similarity in culture. With a choice of England, Spain or Italy it gives the Pozzos the luxury of putting the player where they'll live and work best whilst they develop.

Could you imagine the meltdown on the Club America forum? They'd be livid that their shining star has gone from a 2nd division club in England.. to a 2nd division club in Spain!

Less "culture shock" in first year in Europe.
Spread the players (on TWO teams, there's also Granada B in third division, filled with U21: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/granada-cf-b/startseite/verein/21550).
    Quick EU passport.
    New TV rights deal oncoming.

You guys said already, in previous posts, all the reasons why Pozzo is NOT going to sell Granada.

There was a couple of moments in the first half when he displayed some incredible personal skill. But then there's the other 1000 (or so) minutes of utter mediocrity...

I wouldn't be surprised if Layun ended up at Granada after all. If I owned a house, I'd put it on Vydra being here next season.

We've just been promoted to a league the Pozzos have aimed for since they arrived. Unless Joka wants to go, I think the new contract is a done deal.

Surely we wouldn't start the premier league with yet another new manager. It would be a case of starting from scratch again which you do t want in the PL.
