I already thought that he might when I saw how close the ref was to it. Presumably his opinion and/or report is taken into consideration too.

I thought I read there's an independent review this afternoon on the appeal?

I've seen loads of article saying he has appealed except the ones who would know ... I.E. the Wolves official site and the FA.

Would the ref change his mind just because FF made a meal of the incident?

After all if he thinks a hand was raised then in affect then Wolves guy had to go - even though it was unfortunate.

Much like the Fulham player NOT being sent off for pushing over Vydra.

That example probably sums up why players do make more of such incidents than they should.

The referee makes the call. As I said elsewhere the camera angle is poor, the referee was probably in as good position as possible to see it with his own eyes.

Also if they do appeal I think they would also have to explain the behaviour of some of their players when FF was on the ground, Doherty is one name mentioned.

I wish I could find an example of some egregious cheating by a Wolves player. I know one Wolves supporter who's really got on his high horse about this & I'd love to be able to launch something back in his face.

edit: That said, I'm glad it's been rescinded, i'd just like to shut him up

I like the way they're pleading for Forestieri to get banned following the review of video evidence..... Surely that means the chap who stamped on Forestieri should also be banned, as would Stearman who had his hand round Deeney's throat....

Think we've done pretty well out of this. Wolves lost their best player for a nervy couple of minutes in which we would have been outnumbered, but he's back in time to score the winner against Derby in a couple of weeks.

The incorrect, knee-jerk media outcry was bound to result in the red card being rescinded.

I'm delighted that Sako is now available to help take points off teams who are actually going to be competing with us over the next 10 games.

Agreed. Regardless of whether or not they are right to, (a subject that has been extensively covered in this thread, I'd say!) Wolves will probably feel really hard done by. Hopefully that'll translate into taking points off Derby!

I think this is right - the media stuff around this meant that irrespective of the actual rights and wrongs then it was always going to be rescinded - deep down i am a little pi$$ed off because he did raise his arms and no one can tell if the left hand made contact with the face or not and the decision on the day was made with a clear view - but Wolves are not a threat for the Autos in my view so lets hope he scores the winner v Derby - don't fancy meeting them at Wembley!

And also there's a lot of buskers who sing in London - this translate into "they're looking for it" and "taking ****ing liberties". Would be a sad day, don't want those pond life scumbags anywhere near London.

By then several of the worst ones will be banged up for a very long time ... they certainly won't want a repeat but I agree, inside the ground the air will be poisonous, especially if FF is on the pitch.

Considering the new FA Chief Executive is a Wolves fan, it'll be very interesting to see the results of any future appeals/charges regarding their players.

To see if the amount of appeals or charges rescinded or created changes in a way that would not be consistent with expected levels.

The Chief Executive isn't involved in the disciplinary side of things so can't see how it would. And he hasn't started yet so can't have been involved in today's decision. But fair enough.

Really I'm quite happy the red was rescinded.

He also RT'd my vine saying its a definite red. Think that says it all. Or it says nothing. Or it says SOMETHING, but no one knows what.
