I regularly use this web site http://www.footballdatabase.eu/transferts.php

It's good for tracking player transfers across all divisions / all leagues.

I see that yesterday they have Gabriel Tamas as moving from Watford to Steaua

After a quick google for for Gabriel Tamas + Steaua

    http://www.mondonews.ro/bomba-bombelor-gabriel-tamas-va-semna-cu-steaua-bucuresti/

It makes sense if we are trying to free up some wages to bring in replacements at the back.
This will likely allow us to complete the signing of a new commanding CB soon.

Isn't he out for quite some time with a serious knee ligament injury.

Unlikely to pass any medical considering his current injury.

Clubs can still skip the medical if they feel it's worth it I believe.

The Romanian league is on a winter break until the end of February so maybe they are looking at then..

There are a lot of new articles surrounding the possible move.

most of them do mention his knee ligament injury.

I doubt that we would be receiving anything for him but it would be good to reduce the wages if it can increase the quality of replacement we bring in.

As he will be a free agent at the end of the season, I guess he is free to discuss his next move. I would be very surprised if we were looking to extend his contract.

    We don't need defenders.

    Get rid.

I'm glad my comments are still being taken on board by the club.

Is Priskin back? Good. He can do a job. And then he can do one if it becomes evident in fact he can't.

    Tru dat bruv.

I've been experimenting with a novel 'H' team formation, 4 on each flank, 2 holding midfielders, that solves not only our centre defensive and flank problems but also makes watching our highly paid strikers much less stressful.

Yes, I think that's probably accurate. That kind of injury will take him through to the end of his contract, so it makes sense for all parties that he moves on.

It's strange cause we were crying out for players with championship experience.
Tamas and Dyer in and we're working heavily to get rid of both.

    1 down 1 to go

I think we've missed him ... or rather his ability to put his foot on the ball and pass out from the back. With Hoban it's all about getting rid which admittedly he does admirably (but only if they don't then score from the resulting quick/long throw or corner).

I agree - apart from a few howlers we looked far better bringing the ball out from the back with Tamas as opposed to Bassong.

Agreed. Tamas made a few mistakes but sometimes that just happens. I think he would have turned out well for us if fit for the whole season.

Focusing exclusively on a player's mistakes can create a misleading view of his contributions, just as focusing on goals scored can (McGugan). I really doubt Tamas would have continued making glaring errors.
