Just gonna say this here and now (though I know our collective reply if this does happens), but don't be surprised if Palace bid for Deeney and use Guediora as a counter-weight. I'd reject it but it's something that you might take a little bit more than a minute to think about given that Ighalo has suddenly found form...
Ok then, let me re-phrase for you "Hilarious, i'm sure McGugan scored 2 goals in a game for us once, doesn't necessarily mean you're a good player."
Ok he has only played a few games for us but he looks like the type of player we desperately need as we can't rely on Toszer, Abdi & Munari all season. Toszer and Abdi have had indifferent form recently (and especially against Wolves) and we haven't really got anyone else who can come in to replace any of those three if they are injured, suspended or just need to be rested.
Too early to make a judgement no? Bit contradictory here mate, not sure if you're looking for an argument or what.
You mean one 90 minute games and an average of 23 minutes per game in the other 5? I based my view on the basis that if he doesn't even make Palaces 25 man squad (and look at their position in the Prem), then he probably isn't going to be good enough for a team that should be pushing for automatics. Whilst i'm unsure whether he's going to be a good signing based on the back of one good game, I maintain the view that at the time, it was a pretty uninspiring signing. It's also good to have an initial view, rather than not commenting on it then calling people out who were "wrong". That's just a **** move.
So an affordable Premiership midfielder on loan who has already impressed in the Championship was an uninspiring signing? Were you expecting Fabregas? I heard we had a bit of trouble scraping the wages together for that one.
Also, Chalobah doesn't get in Burnley's team but I bet the majority think he's good enough for our team.
He does seem to add a bit of forward impetus when I have seen , I hope we do manage to keep him but cant see that happening ,Damn sure Pardew will wont to assess all his players before buying selling and loaning . I also hope we can hang on to Bassong as well ,although that might be even trickier to complete .
I don't think it's wrong to have an opinion, I just find it confusing when people aren't happy with a signing before they've even played a game for the club.
Having an opinion on a player before they sign is understandable, whether you're happy with the signing or not. I'm sure Chelsea fans were happy with the signing of Fabregas before he played a game for them - why is that any less of an acceptable opinion than not thinking someone will be a good signing? I think what Squibba is saying is that whatever your opinion on a player when they sign, six games isn't enough time for that opinion to be justified either way. When Arshavin signed for Arsenal, and when he scored four goals against Liverpool, Arsenal fans probably thought he was a good signing. After three more years of paying £100k a week for him to sit on their bench, they probably changed their mind. Having opinions is natural and, in my opinion, one of the best aspects of being a football supporter. Why try to label everything as correct or incorrect when it's all subjective anyway?
Left-field suggestion, but if we do find ourselves in need of replacing Guedioura , perhaps Chalobah may be a possibility in the January window. I know Chelsea don't really hold youth development in very high regard, but if I were them I'd be strongly considering recalling him and sending him somewhere where he can play every week until May. Doesn't seem to get a look in on match days at the moment.
Unless Chelsea batter us on Sunday, feel sorry for us and decide to pay the majority of his ridiculous wages then I doubt it considering Gino's interview in the Summer.
Craig Forsyth was utter garbage according to most on here, but now he is the first on Derby's team list every game and will be playing in the Premier next season.
Every time I've seen him since he left he has still looked utter tosh. If they go up I suspect they may sign somebody better
Might have something to do with the fact he has nobody better and makes other positions a priority. Great left foot but poor generally
Palace mate told me they have 12 midfielders on their books . Let's hope that means Guideiora will be way down Pardews pecking order .
Pardew has named quite a few players who have been away on loan in the squad who realistically aren't gonna be playing for them in the prem (Murray for instance), those wanting Alan back have nothing to worry about.
